Good question.

I started this project in 2019 around the time the pandemic hit. So there were no shows.

But the more I think about it, I'm not an "entertainer" I'm a "recording artist". There's a big difference. MC Hammer was an entertainer, he wore shiny suits and got on stage with 20 background dancers with lights and special effects. I don't have any desire to do that. I'd be happy if I could make a living off streaming.

I used to DJ ( I wasn't that good at it) but I could see myself DJing parties and nightclubs. In fact, I'm in the process of writing a business proposal to be the DJ on a cruise ship.

But to answer your question, no I do not do live shows and I do not have any desire to stand on stage in front of people while they stare at me. That's just not my personality.

I've had people tell me that "you have to do shows if you want to make music" but that just isn't true. Bob Marley's music sells more and gets more streams than anybody that's currently alive and he hasn't done a show in 40 years, but people still listen to his music.

My point is, there's a difference between a "recording artist" and an "entertainer". I'd be happy if people drove around listening to my music but I don't have any desire to stand on stage and perform it in front of people. I'd be interested in making PROFESSIONAL music videos with choreographed dancing, not hood videos with a bunch of dudes standing around making gang signs in front of the projects.

The DJ on a cruise may not be a bad idea. If you do end up getting the gig, just don’t rap. At all. Don’t think people on the cruise wanna hear “death to the Jews” or “pork is evil” or “cut my nuts with a blade” etc

My point is that Bob Marley's music probably makes more money in the streaming era than anybody alive. And he hasn't done a show since 1981.

So you don't have to do shows to make money from streaming.

I'm not convinced you have to do shows to make money from streaming.

That's my point.

Traditionally recording artists have to become "entertainers" to promote their music.

But a recording artist and an entertainer are two different skillsets, and really two different things altogether.

I'd pay somebody to go on stage and lip sync to my music before I'd go on stage and perform it myself.
