@Fightbackmode2005 I meant to ask..I'm looking to consolidate some hard drives and looking for a good reliable backup to buy..at least 5 TB. Should I get an external or a shuckable one? Any recommendations? Want to get back to posting heat.

Hey bro. I just did this very thing a few months ago.

Consolidated a bunch of 2TB Samsungs and 3TB Hitachi HDDs into some WD 8TB Reds and a 10TB WD Gold.

If you are storing internally on a PC, I would go with a WD Red or Gold. At least 8TB single capacity.

If external, the WD line is pretty good.

For reference, the drives I switched from were still fully functional with no issues. All of them were at least 10 years old. I baby my tech.

Desktop HDDs suffer less wear and tear due to being stationary.

Mobile drives suffer more shock.

Between the two, the 8TB Elements HDD is the better value.
