Crazy you didn't get any drive failures. I think it's best I go external, but wasn't sure of Seagate vs WD reliability. I know WD has various tiers, some more reliable than others. I've downgraded to a laptop, so if I try to go internal drive, I'm going to be out some cash. I suppose I could go internal SSD and throw it in an enclosure too.

Desktop HDDs suffer less wear and tear due to being stationary.

Mobile drives suffer more shock.

Between the two, the 8TB Elements HDD is the better value.
