i didnt need the oscars to validate my thoughts about BP as a film, a soundtrack, and a movement

unfortunately, my support of this film alone is not enough to ensure that directors like Ryan Coogler will continue to get funding or to be put in charge to direct even bigger films on an even larger scale

idk why this is so hard for you to grasp

does it suck that this film even getting nominated is going to open doors for everyone involved from makeup to the camera guy to work on other big budget projects? yes, but this is the reality we are in. If they win, cool, if they dont, its still wakanda forever fam

and if none of the other rocky movies got a nod, what makes Creed different. You like boxing, so you have an invested interest, but there was nothing special about creed if we keeping it a buck

That's the Academy.

Martin Scorsese has his one and only Directing Oscar for The Departed. Not Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Goodfellas, or Casino.

well titanic did win a bunch of academy awards....and that's why i called it overrated...

and now BP is nominated for a bunch
 
a lotta these movies need noms for effects.....not BP.... but quite a few

Michael b deserves a supporting actor nom, easy....

and the costume folk in bp did an amazing job....some of the detail was pretty amazing..

Dope that a comicbook movie is getting some oscar love, but movie of the year.. movie of the year?Great fucking flick and a top Marvel/Origin film for me, but shit wasnt better than no infinity war. Sure there were lots of other movies that were better too but i cant think of what all came out in 2018 haha.

I dunno if they have the category already, but it would be cool for Comicbook films to fall under "Best adaption movie" or something like that. Where the source material/inspiration of the film is already established in print as a novel/Graphic novel/Comicbook and they adapt it into film.
