Nobody having Oscar watch parties for BP. Keep in mind Moonlight just won a couple years ago for Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay and Ali won best supporting actor.

i didnt need the oscars to validate my thoughts about BP as a film, a soundtrack, and a movement
unfortunately, my support of this film alone is not enough to ensure that directors like Ryan Coogler will continue to get funding or to be put in charge to direct even bigger films on an even larger scale

does it suck that this film even getting nominated is going to open doors for everyone involved from makeup to the camera guy to work on other big budget projects? yes, but this is the reality we are in. If they win, cool, if they dont, its still wakanda forever fam
