I fucks with this.

Mesoamerica desn't get the shine it deserves nor does any culture in The Americas on a whole. We've been on this side of the planet for 20,000 years and the only shit anybody really talks about is when Columbus showed up and fucked everything up. Including it in the lore of the MCU was nice.

However...

The criticism was just, but I think the focus was off. Maybe I'm wrong, but this movie seemed to be saying that regardless of how much of a Black Queen you are, no matter how strong Black women are, there needs to be a Black King/Black Man present to balance it out. That was the thing that seemed to stand out to me. I could be wrong, it could have been the alcohol, but that kinda seemed to be an overarching theme: No matter what, the Black woman needs the Black man as her protector, lest she allies herself with those that do not have her true interests at heart.

Again... I was drinking, so maybe it's the bourbon.
