Netflix jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy

Went thru College Dropout thru 808&HB.4 completly different albums that could have all been classics debuts imo.

Up next us MBDTF, WTT, Cruel Summer, and Yeezus

Man a lot of emotional points in this doc. A lot of clarity brought too.

I can see how him losing his mom sent him in a years long spiral. It really showed how important she was when he went back to see her early on and got grounded. After that visit Coodie said Kanye was more motivated than ever. And how can you not want to make a mom like that proud. After she’s gone, who are you trying to make proud? Who is your motivation and grounding factor?

I’ve been hopeful Kanye stays on this spiritual path but I can tell this divorce is hitting him hard. It’s almost like every time he finds some balance and purpose something happens to knock him off track. The devil is real man.

\rant
That was real shit he was saying regarding speaking out on abortion. I never watched the press conference or whatever that was but knowing what he was talking about now, this smiley should be retired.

:kanyecry:

Dude was having an emotional, heartbreaking moment and he becomes a meme for it, smh. People want to celebrate mental health awareness but at the same time clown a black man that’s going through it in real time.
/rant.
End but continues to rant.

Lol

but real shit.
I get kanye
I understand bruh.
If you on an only surface thought path he seems like he’s crazy but he’s not.
The man feels like the world is his to take. Yet are people really listening to him and processing what he’s saying.
We as black people shouldn’t want to censor a black man like Kanye.

Aight, this nigga Coodie starting to spill too many feelings in the air.

Actually, I think he protected Kanye more than a lot of ppl did/have. You saw how truly hurt he was by Kanye’s actions after College Dropout and the 180 he did to everybody from the first episode. He really considered Kanye a brother and wanted to share in his life like any true friend and Kanye gave that nigga dust. Called him every few years when HE wanted new video or old footage.

Also, I believe even he was shocked by Kanye’s mental breakdowns in real time. Watching that last episode felt like watching a fiend’s first 24hr withdrawal. Like this nigga is shaking & screaming for help while everybody else is just standing there asking if the album’s done.

I don’t disagree with any of this. It’s just that none of it has much to do with what I was talking about.

More than one thing can be true. He likely DID look out for Kanye a lot..and he did a lot of spilling his feelings in the air.

I was trying to indicate open rant but that obviously failed, lol.

Donda's loss shattered him ... Pretty evident

Those moments Coodie would turn off the camera while Ye was still talking ... Tough to watch

From bum rushing ROC offices to get your music heard by staff to chilling in the Caribbean by the oceans discussing with white estate magnates .. homie came a long way

And I still don't trust the Kardashians

Yeah man

This 3rd part really showed how much him losing his mother affected him…I know it was always said…but to really SEE it…broke my heart man. He should have taken the time to really grieve…he just threw himself into work and created a whole different personality…you can actually tell when the “old” Kanye is speaking because he has the Chi accent…this new Kanye got the permanent job interview voice.

And yeah…fuck the Kardashians…

I can surmise Kanye started to spiral again when Kim got robbed because she could’ve died considering the circumstances

That could’ve been just as impactful as his mom passing away

It's like he seems to be doing well the next day or days later and you wanna blame it on a psychotic episode. Then you see him watching Tucker Carlson break down that rant and you realize "Oh wait, he still actually believes in what he said that day."
He and Tucker had a point about abortion. Where he went wrong was thinking Tucker gave a fuck about him or had his back. People like that love using black people as a mask to cover their racism.

I was genuinely surprised with how much Mos Def and Talib Kweli were behind Kanye watching that documentary - they really believed in him while everyone else either shat on him or kept him around just for his beats. Seeing him talk shit about those that were giving him hope at the beginning when others weren't giving him the time of day just exposes him for the dickhead he is.
