Whoa hol up!I shouldn't have to because it's outlandish and this the only place where niggas don't agree. She obviously is to her peers who address her as such.
Trina was one of the few female rap pioneers from the south (not to mention Dominican) who came into the game at a young age with Trick Daddy and blew up and set a blueprint for female rappers much of which are still copying today. She also (along with Lil Kim and Foxy) helped speak for a generation of women in Hip-Hop, her success was paramount to showcasing what was possible for HipHop and you didn't need to be a rap impressario like Lil Kim or move weight like Foxy. You could be from the bottom AND be a woman and just happen to rhyme hype. Before Cardi was giving hope to strippers, there was Trina. Before you put Cardi B or Meg The Stallion on a pedestal pay homage to those who came before and respect it.
All these stripper turnt rappers, foh that's Trina's blueprint. Trina comes from that class of Missy, Eve, Lil Kim, Fox Boogie, Left Eye. She's a legend for her commitment to the game and the impact she had in the south and Hip Hop just off her success alone. She made her bones musically and as a rapper never backing down from a battle or challenge no matter who it was. Not much else needs to be said. She has hits, music, plaques, etc. If you pull up every female rapper ever to drop a rap album Trina is rounding out a top 5 or 10 in terms of success, influence and impact.
The problem with this is niggas here don't really respect or contribute to female hip hop at all. So you're gonna get a biased opinion and/or one that's not even familiar with Trina',s music or willing to look at her career objectively. It's like trying to get niggas to rate and categorize Beyoncé's classics. Niggas can't do it but females definitely can. Females who cut from that cloth or came up in that era love Trina.
Trina Dominican?
