FEATURED Is Living In NY Worth It?

test
Let’s be clear, Virginia Beach is in the 757. We are in no way affiliated with anything DMV-related.

Now that that’s out of the way, the 757 lacks in a lot of ways; no professional sports teams, public transportation is ass, laws are backwards and racist. It’s a lot. But in contrast, the 757 atleast has black folk and “the culture”. The food is way better in VA and it goes without saying that the weather is too. There’s way more shit I could list but yeah. Crime in WA is kinda crazy. The sheer variety of fuck shit out here is wild.

Even with all you said about the 757 that’s a negative… it felt like home. The black faces & establishments out here in SD are few and far between.

I’ll say this: the boroughs ain’t for everybody. It takes about a year to get your footing under you if you’re moving here from elsewhere.

If you don’t like moving a bit faster, putting your head on a swivel a bit more, and being open to anything but more often, you ain’t gonna enjoy NYC.

Everyone has a niche here. The key is to find yours, then expand on that.

Visited NYC once on the company dime. That was the best way to experience it because that shit is dumb expensive. Not just the rent, but everything.

If I was in NYC my salary would be the equivalent of making $100k a year here in NC. I hadn’t lived off that little in over a decade.

You’d be surprised. Apparently the reason why people are willing to pay so much to live in a world city like NYC is because it turns out it really IS that much better and worth it. Square footage isn’t everything. What is lost in square footage of the units in a city like that is likely made up for by literally everything else.

Bruh I feel like a the Western states are filled with fuckery

Yeah, I've never really understood the desire to live in NYC. I mean I get it for people in certain professions. NYC might be the best place to be depending on what you want to do in life, but in general, high cost of living, high crime rate, high population density. Those things are appealing at all to me.

When people move out of NYC and go to other places, their whole energy is like "I'm special because I survived live in NYC." Why would anyone choose to move somewhere where simple survival is something to be proud of?

I had friends move to NY, most have left since, and when they talked about it I just didn't get it. It seems like moving up there just makes you forget, or go into denial, about what's acceptable.

Rats everywhere, homeless people everywhere, small ass apartments, too many people with attitudes. Like you live somewhere where you'll see a homeless dude taking a shit on a rat and you won't even blink twice. But normal people know that's some wild ass shit nobody wants to be around.

Its gonna boil down to your position within and relationship to the environment . That'll make or break any locale

There's also lifestyle proclivities... ive been fortunate enough to have experienced a few places for perspective.... having to hop in a car just to do the most basic of tasks like go to the park get some eggs or have a drink etc is some straight up unacceptable bama bullshit at this point in my life... but we all got our own vantage points

And if you dont know how to maintain a home you just dont know how to maintain a home... size aint got shit to do with it

If you aint got alot of space consume less n organize more...

Size has plenty to do with it... pause...we pause in here? Space gives you options. Man cave? Home office? Guest bedroom? Separate bathrooms? Hosting things? Ducking off for some quiet time?
