COMMUNITY Is A Universal Basic Income A Good Idea?

My bro was talkin to me about this the other day i meant to watch some vids like the ones in the op but never got around to it

Almost sounds like New Age communism. Sounds good on paper but the element of human nature will ruin it.

All those examples you listed are there to supplement the income you have for those situations. Which are a case by case basis. It’s one thing to get government assistance because of the circumstances you have... but to get money just cause leaves things wide open for all kinds of ways to cheat the system. There’s already enough jackasses sitting around collecting checks for the fuck of it. You get grown the responsibly to make an decent income lies on the individual. IMO
 
It's more than a good idea. It will basically be a requirement in the near future. With so much automation being implemented, a lot of the lower level jobs will disappear. Hell, even some higher level jobs could be reduced. Things like surgeries could conceivably be automated too reducing the need for human surgeons.

Also, the whole "If the government gives everyone money, no one will work" line is a lie or a least an exaggeration. It's not like every person born rich goes their his or her whole life doing nothing. And the UBI would only be enough to cover a very basic life. Most people want more than that.

and with no one working....it may turn to being in the military as a requirement to get this money.
and watch the wars start.
 
Eh... socialism is great but if you don't give people a reason to do something, will they do it? A hard human factor that's nearly impossible to quantify
 
whatever your view is.. THIS in which we have here is not working out for alot of people its a lot of working and overworking to live... Wages havent went up coffer just got fuller
