Welcome To aBlackWeb

Im not trying to start trouble....but

Can't speak for these other cats but I'm always showing people how to get money. I grew up in poverty worked my way up to have some things. Got a few properties, own a few vehicles, taking care of my parents home and all their bills.

To all young people on this site fuck college get yourself certified in something technical ie CCNA,CCNP CCISP and go make yourself a quick 100k. Slide into nursing get your RN and become a travel nurse make a quick 100k and see the world on their dime. Learn a hustle that matters change it up a little resell it back to the customers and boom you're making money. Get in the house flip game and become a wholesaler make you a easy 5-15k a month.

You have to change your mindset as well. Don't blow money on J's blow money on Nike stock. Rebuild your credit if you got a closet full of designer clothing but your credit score is under 600 your hustle is backwards. If you need help with that I'll point you in the right direction.

Said all that to say this......"doing your thing" or "getting it" is subjective. I'll be retiring from all forms of work in 4 more years but some cats will be still "getting it".

Was talking to my boy who's in IT. Probably gonna get my A+ certification starting in January and keep going from there.

I'm tellin y'all: Linux and Unix (Solaris, AIX, HP/UX) is where it's at. If you can pick up OS/400 too you can write your own ticket. You'll go up the pay ladder faster with Linux and Unix under your belt. That's exactly how I doubled my starting pay in IT in only 3 years: I went from Windows and desktop shit to Linux and Unix and went from working on a helpdesk, sharing space with 3 other people making $15.89/hr to niggas leaving me alone in my own cubicle gettin' $32/hr

Also, Network Security can elevate your pockets quickly, but it means learning the ins and outs of Windows, Linux, and networking hardware. A CEH or CISSP behind your name works wonders with security.

VMWare stuff, XenServer, Hyper-V, and Amazon Cloud Services are also good to learn.

Capitalism is wack. Not everything needs to have a dollar value or a price tag

People learn cool things every day, b. It's not less important just because they're not out here charging a fee

I dont think yall ever gonna feel race on these topics. Not putting words in her mouth or anything but she against capitalism. Most black americans think capitalism is the best method despite taking excessive losses historically.

I prolly stand in my own way on a lotta shit.

I may be a smart guy, but I make a lot of bad decisions, and I know I gotta do better.

You cant opt out of capitalism.. you can not be wasteful, materialistic or depndent or use it as a crutch but if you are living you are workin within the system whether you earn a dollar earn a billion , earn nothing

OS/400 is the operating system that runs on AS/400 aka iSeries. Yes, it's old as shit, but it's still heavily in use in hospitality, finance, and insurance.

I used to work for AmEx a while back. They had rows of them muhfuckas in the datacenter I was working out of.

This is the one I have for CCNA:

I tend to have better retention when I'm reading from a book instead of on a PC, phone, or tablet.

I picked it up years ago and promptly forgot pretty much everything about it after I stopped working with it. I worked for an insurance company in Scottsdale and we had an AS400 with an emulated S/390 environment but no one to run the show 'cause they had just fired their entire IT staff outside of the developers. We got brought in on a contract and when no one was willing to fuck with it I was like "lemme get at it" and they let me run with it. I had a lil experience with it from Borders Group and BBDO, but working there was the first time it was my day-to-day.
