Welcome To aBlackWeb

Im not trying to start trouble....but

Everything. The whole go get it or you nothing and dont deserve nothing type of thinking.
I'm not sure how this applies.
In order to do anything you need resources. No one us giving you anything for free. Even in communist govts you have to work to survive.
So if I get my actual worth for my work...why not try to do enough to give my offspring a better life?

Help me understand how that's a bad thing?

Don't even bother. I've gone back and forth over this with a bunch of people in the past and most recently with my 20 year old. Even when you point out shit like that they still refuse to understand that your labor is worth something.

Damn shame too.
People don't realize how to get economic freedom but want to scream black wall street.
How do they think they got there? It was capitalism, entrepreneurs, and love of self. And a few had to venture out and deal with white folk.
Smdh.
This exactly why our people are where they are. Can't get out there own feelings to see a message. Let white people shit on them all day and pay them pennies but wanna give me shit.

Lol...smdh
You speak true words @koncept

I'm heading up the implementation of our new ERP system from the financials side and it's OS/400 iSeries based. Shit's just like AS/400 but there's just more capability.

The old AS/400 I worked on at a past employer had to run programs to pull data. On iSeries I can pull whatever I want using Power Query in Excel and connecting to the system using an ODBC connection. Just got to know the table names and field names cause them shits is like heiroglyphics until you understand them. And pulling direct from the system can be dangerous if you don't know what you doing.

The direction of this thread has taken more turns than the Autobon

I'm not sure what the point of it was

Besides telling niggas they ain't shit

Brother, some people have a fear of success and others have a fear of maintaining success.

These fears will keep them stuck in a cubicle breathing nasty ass office air as an employee, instead of conquering those fears, taking a chance and becoming an EMPLOYER.

Failure doesnt hurt, doesnt come with pain, just a tendency to wound ones ego.

I took that jump in my mid 30's
with 3 kids and a wife, hhad plenty more to lose than most these EMPLOYEE'S.

Yall have no excuse to not be doing what you love.

Get out of your own self inflicted hostage situation.

this is kinda all or nothing tho?

if i can do what i want on someone else's dime and still make money on the side, why knock my cubicle life?

I know not everyone can say this, but i can truly say im not at a dead end job

Yeah, nothing wrong with an office job. Whether you climbing the ladder or not. Get yourself a set of skills where you'll always be employed and cool out. Or climb the ladder if that makes you happy.

I sometimes feel like I'm climbing too high. I'm torn cause part of me would like to sit in a cube and do high level accounting with no direct reports. Shit's simple to me but comes with a great stable salary.

That allows me to focus on me personally and my family. More time to read, work out, take the family out, less stress, etc.

But the other part of me likes the ladder. It's a sense of accomplishment. And allows me and the family a lot more stability and financial freedom for just a bit more stress and time.

I say whichever way you go, if you happy, that's all that matters. But don't complain about your situation and do nothing to change it.
