To have to ride it out for whatever reason you can't leave, and then to also know it's been for naught...
Baby sis and husband sheltered in place and they have two generators. She just told me his family evacuated to their crib but they're still in the storm's path. They lost power, flooding is bad, and the winds are still high as fuck.
I wasn't sure if I heard it right yesterday. Only caught part of it on the news but heard something about a 50ft stretch of levee. Kept trying to find something on the internet about it but didn't see anything
I have family that didnt leave and the power is out. A few places have water but that was expected, nothing major. Our infrastructure is trash though

Their house only lost a few shingles off the roof, but some of her neighbors ended up with whole trees crashing on their homes. They're boxed in 'cause all the surrounding streets are blocked by uprooted trees. Their internet is out 'cause the fiber has been destroyed by uprooted trees. In her words "there's so much devastation all around it's unbelievable".
She also said N.O. has no power or running water and they don't expect it back up for at least 5 days. She also said they're not allowing anyone in or our of N.O.

Hearing they can be without power for possibly 6 weeks depending on parishes since a major transmitter got destroyed.
Hoping there is another method for them man.
