He's not her only contact, but her main contact, they were in a good relationship and I would think she's thinking he's going to hold her down while she sit.

Well i would say it depends on the threat like if i feel like she is going to be killed or sexually assaulted im shooting. Dont matter if we been dating 3 weeks or 3 decades.

Dude takes girl out to Applebees,
Girl's ex bf shows up with a gun and grabs her by the hair and says get in the car.
Ex bf yells at the dude and says "man this aint what you want, gon bout yo business" and points the gun at him
Dude sees gun and starts to walks/run away,
Girls yells, you aint go help me

if I don't have dependents I guess I aint got much to lose.

I wld do it but we wld have to be married. for legal reasons. if he leaves me while I'm doing time for saving his life, I may have shot my chances at most professions. ppl dont look favorably on murder charges.

ima need resources when i get out n i kno relationships dont fare well in prison. splitting is likely. if we r just in a relationship n we split, then tough luck 4 me. if we r married n we divorce while I'm in there, @ least there r clauses so he can't leave me to rot in there n be destitute when I get out.
