So I just watched this. It was decent as a mostly fictional action movie but the fact of the matter is that Harriet Tubman's real life was compelling enough that they didn't need to make up 75% of the movie to add drama and gloss over the real events.
I have no idea what people were talking about with the white savior shit. Whoever said that saw that is either an idiot, a liar or saw a totally different edit of the movie I saw.
The real issue is they made up a character of a black slavecatcher to be one of the main antagonists even though that person didn't exist in real life and it's super-unlikely that black slavecatchers even existed at all in the south. Why would they do that other than to appease white people's guilt when watching the movie and add false credence to the tired "well you guys did it too" argument that they like to use?
