Even though this is a redo of Halloween II revenge story style (coming back after 40 yrs of lock up to finish the girl who sent him away) they did remove the sibling angle cause that was introduced in Hallowen II. It still pays homage to Halloween II in it's own way. Halloween III as well. This looks like a love letter to the series unlike what Rob Zombie did.

Until 4 then H20 after 4 - 6. In other words they'll just always keep creating new timelines that spawn from the original. I see the Akkads (the producers) greenlighting another "true sequel" in about a decade if not that then another remake. They're not gonna let the cash cow die.

I only really liked Devil's Rejects. If he ever touches another horror icon it should only be The Sawyer Family. He clearly loves TCM.

I always felt zombie could make an epic ass Tcm. Especially after devils rejects and Halloween. The sequel to devils rejects is in post production. Hope it turns out well
