Gang Gang (We still here!)

My Chromecast with GoogleTv arrived earlier today.

Gonna attempt to install some apps on it later and let yall know how/if it performs compared to the MiBox, Firestick, Nvidia Shield
 
So far so good. Setup was pretty easy. Only annoying thing was I had to look up how to put it into development mode so I can install from unknown sources but after that it's the typical setup. Downloader->Filelinked->Streaming apps.

Interface is nice and clean and seems to be running smoothly. Gonna try to stream some heavy HD files and see how the playback goes. Supposed to support 4k 60fps and HDR shit tho. Internal storage is like 4.5 gigs.

I dont really rock with voice controls but I tried it and it worked pretty damn good.

Controller is a bit smaller than I would like, volume buttons on the side, but other than that this seems solid. Volume and power buttons control the actual TV so theres no need to turn the volume up or down on the device and then turn the volume up and down on your tv separately. Same with power on/off

I was having that same issue yesterday. I just happened to check earlier today when @A-one said to try again and the login screen showed up for me. I havent tried since tho. Will try it a little later this evening to see if there are still problems

The website is moving super slow, I guess because they made everyone log back in. Its probably gonna be fucked up for a few days.

Just tried and I cant get to the login screen either.

@A-one any folks to follow on twitter or something to get a better idea on when things are back up and running?

Nah not by default. It's only the chromecast device which has the HDMI attached(not removeable) and the power cable that goes to it. Wifi only.

I did a quick lookup and they have an official adapter for like 20 bucks tho... looks like it combines the power plug and ethernet jack

I bout the Mibox on the recommendation of somebody earlier in the thread, not realizing that it doesn't have a ethernet port. Its a nice interface and really smooth, no ethernet port is the drawback for me.

I follow @RealDebrid. They stay active with updates about their service!
