Fixing The DCEU

i keep telling them to watch and see....

niggaz talking about wb execs gonna interfere, when it was only 3 movies that were rushed out (bvs,jl,ss)

everything else has been pretty much allowed to be great....just allow dc to be great and stop hoping for the worst

You're just as guilty for stating as fact that Johns has full final control of whatever he works on.

and this is just bullshit.....

DC has not had 18 years of disappointment

they literally dropped 3 rushed movies in a 2 year period that could've been a lot better if handled well....

yall niggaz overreact so much

Really???

I'm giving y'all DC fans a break and not going all the way back to '97 to include Steel and Batman and Robin. But, I'll stick with the 2000's

Catwoman - Ass
Batman Begins - Good
Superman Returns - Ass
The Dark Knight - Good
Watchmen - Ass
Jonah Hex - Ass
Green Lantern - Dirty Ass
The Dark Knight Rises - Aiight
Man of Steel - Good
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - Ass
Suicide Squad - Ass
Wonder Woman - Aiight
Justice League - Ass.

So I'll take a correction: Catwoman didn't come out until 2004, so it's been 14 years of DC-based flicks. Marvel has had a full 18 years beginning with the first X Men in 2000. I'm not talking about just DCEU or MCU flicks, I'm talking every movie based on characters from each imprint which is why I included the Daredevil, Elektra, and Ghost Rider flicks for Marvel.

To reboot foreal..

Id take the exact same script from the flashpoint animation film. I'd take Grant Gustin and place him as the flash. That movie is a great place for the reboot. You can introduce the new Batman, as he has a small role. You can introduce the new Superman because he has a small role.

You can keep wonder woman the same and the new Auqaman is made for the evil Auqaman role

Reverse Flash

Thomas Wayne

After that movie is done, I introduce"Luthor"

Played by

The way Luthor starts ...

Denzel is sitting infront of a cafe with a goon in a all black suit holding a umbrella above him to block the sun.

A large black sadan pulls up to a screetch..A man pops up. The goon goes for his gun but Luthor stops him because he recognizes him.

"Lex!!" The man yells

Lex have I got a surprise for you..

Lex..takes a sip of his tea and puts down the paper he was reading

Lex: do I have to explain to you why you shouldn't be here

Guy:I know I know, but you wo..

There's a knock from the trunk..

Lex has a brief sigh

Lex:Who's in the trunk

Guy:Lois freaking Lane, Lex

Lex, looks up at the sky, glancing above the roof tops. He motions to two goons in black inside the cafe. They come outside and he whispers to one of them.

One of them grabs the guy and the other jumps into the vechicle and drives off. The goon drags the guy into the cafe and Lex returns to his reading and Tea.

Next Scene

The sadan comes to a halt in the middle of nowhere, the goon hops out, walks to a car that was trailing him.

He gets in the car and before he peels of, uses the key link to pop the trunk..Lois Emerges and screams the loudest scream she can let out..

The camera pans up above the trees, you hear rattling, and see the wind pic up. A flame tears through the small forest and superman comes to a halt infront of the trunk.

Lois is bloody and shaking, superman is enraged and tears to the nearest hospital holding her. He drops her off and the doctors rush to treat her. He peels out in a gust of wind.

Next Scene

Lex stands infront of a painting in his home. Superman comes flying through the window. Lex with his back to superman says...

It's so hard to find good help these days..superman plows across the room to lex..

Opening credits roll

some of those asses are not ass

watchman was good, really good

BVS, SS, JL were not ass... fair at worst...they were definitely rushed, and could have been better.... but not ass... i can sit and re watch any of them at any time..

now catwoman, hex, GL, superman returns... yea those are unwatchable....

but you're being entirely overcritical i'll pick this up later

This is your proof? You can't be serious.
It's literally the first movie under johns production company.

The early reviews are great
The early ticket sales are high

All signs point towards a hit..

There's no reason to think that excecs gonna step on johns toes he's doing great he set out to do

So, again, you have no proof that Johns has full control outside of Aquaman not being messed with. Which isn't proof at all. It could be that he delivered just what they wanted.

You had a chance to back your statement up with a source and you were unable to do so.

Justice League was terrible. Like... Really, really awful.

BvS... They tried to fit entirely too much into one movie so they could set up Justice League and it came off as a mess. And, as I said in the WW vs 1st Avenger thread, they tried entirely too hard to make WW out to be a badass. Shit came off corny as fuck.

SS has soooooooooo much potential I'm actually angry that they squandered it... And casting Will Smith as Deadshot made no fuckin sense other than to try to get people to see it simply because of him. And placing Amanda Waller out front like that in this flick??? She should have had a presence in MoS and BvS.

:niggawhat:.....slim that's 3 of the 5 movies they've done so far

Y'all just wanna argue.

The thread called fixing the dceu.

Geoff Johns is currently fixing the dceu.

He's doing it through his production company mad ghost.

The first movie they produced comes out in three weeks. The next one early next year.

All signs are pointing towards them righting the ship...

But y'all ain't buying it... That's cool.

Just stay tuned. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong.

But y'all gotta stop looking for problems that aren't there.

There's nothing about
Aquaman
Shazam or
Wonder Woman that has a hint of anything but great expectations all around.

And being that they are the first three movies being produced by this company... Even this early it's safe to say they worked out the issues they had previously and we as fans have nothing but great things to expect going forward.

Y'all go head and be grumpy about it.

I'm happy and excited

you're wrong.....

simply bcuz that's the whole reason for the mad ghost production company n the first place....the whole reason johns stepped down....to prevent that from happening in the future...

but you don't wanna hear that from me. you wanna see it.. so you'll see it with the mad ghost produced DC movies.....

first up aquaman
I've read that the first mad ghost production will actually be green lantern corps. John's co wrote the script and story with James wan though and of course will receive EP credit. Same thing for wonder woman 84. I'm not sure of his involvement in shazam but I'm sure he will get producer credit like he has had on all the other films, but those films were well In development before he had started up his company. His interview he said that he stepped down as CEO of DCE because he would often have to leave movie production to take care of other things and this way he will be able to have more creative control and spend much more time on set of the film productions so I believe you're right for the most part, but mad ghost wont be the main production company on aquaman or wonder woman if they are involved at all. I'll try posting a link if I can find it again, I was reading it at work before the earthquake hit lol

"I took on a role at DCE because I love the characters and this universe more than anything. But, I want to spend my days writing and on set," Johns said Monday in a statement. "I’m thrilled to get back to a more hands-on creative role. It’s a dream job on dream projects, reaching even deeper into DC’s vast pantheon of characters."

One of Johns' first projects will be Green Lantern Corps, based on DC’s intergalactic police heroes, which he is already very familiar with, having spent nine years writing Green Lantern comics and its spinoffs and publishing events. Johns will write the screenplay and act as one of the producers on the feature film. He is already writing and producing Wonder Woman 2and will have a co-writing and executive producing credit on Aquaman, this year's only DC offering, which is set to open in December.

"Geoff is a super-talented writer and truly embedded in the DC Universe and its characters," said Emmerich. "We’re thrilled that he’s returning to his passion and his roots as a writer and producer. And, it’s even better that he’s staying in our Warner Bros. family. We look forward to working with him on Green Lantern and other projects going forward."

On the television side, Johns co-developed and is executive producing (alongside Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Jeremy Carver) and writing on Titans, the first original series for the upcoming DC Universe digital service. Johns also wrote the Titans episode "Doom Patrol" that it is spinning out into its own 13-episode original series for the digital service.

On the publishing side, Johns will write and curate a DC pop-up label under the moniker The Killing Zone, focusing on new and lesser-known or dormant DC characters and titles. He will also write a new Shazamcomic series, scheduled to bow this fall, as well as a comic titled Three Jokers, drawn by Jason Fabok. The latter was a project that was sidelined as Johns’ time was taken up by executive and screen commitments.

“Geoff is one of DC Comics’ most prolific writers, and we can’t wait to see what he does next now that he will be dedicating 100 percent of his time to telling the best DC stories possible across all media," said DiDio and Lee.

Go to mad ghost website Lou.

They have a list of movies and TV shows they produced

The Green lantern movie is the one he's most excited about... It's still in development. But Aquaman is their first finished product. For movies.

They already produce titans and flash

Outside of just chucking the whole WB out the damn window....

Get rid of Zack fucking Snyder. All his DC movies have his overbearing epic tone to it and it ruined bvs for me. Like the shit is pretentious for no reason.

Stop using batman and his universe so much. Or go into the lower tier villains. Like how many fucking times do we need to see joker. That's why I'm happy about the Harley Quinn joint with huntress and black canary.

Not properly introducing characters and rushing to try to do what MCU did. I don't understand why we got a justice league movie before everyone's solo movies or them being introduced elsewhere.

I liked Batman v Superman for the most part. Suicide Squad I didn't mind. It was dragged so badly when I eventually saw it it was nowhere near as bad as I expected it. The editing was atrocious but I really expected much much worse. Haven't watched it since the cinema though.

It was the opposite of The Avengers where I expected much much better and walked out so pissed that outside of Spider-Man and Iron Man 3 (on FX!) I haven't watched an MCU movie since.

Justice League was the real heartbreaker. It was ok at best. It should've been great or at least epic. Stings more especially with the recent revelation that Steppenwolf was originally the Suicide Squad villain and JL was a Darkseid focused 2 parter.

I loathed Man of Steel when it came out. Enjoy it a bit more now but still find it too drab and uninspiring for a Superman movie. What they did to Pa Kent was a complete betrayal and pretty much why this version of Superman seems so fucked up. Its like if Uncle Ben had said "Abuse all your power, fuck responsibility".

So I'm far from Snyder's biggest defender. The way WB did him was bogus though. Let the man complete his vision at least before you dump him. They fired him in the middle of him completing his Superman trilogy. That hurt them way more than it would've had they just let it ride out.

For the record Kevin Tsujihara is out. Toby Emmerich is the overseer of these movies on the WB end and they hired James Wan's friend to redirect the DC end. Nevertheless Emmerich is no more better than Tsujihara was so I'll wait and see.
