You don't realize how far shit is away if you don't understand that
Like this Goldilocks zone or whatever is several light years away.....
The closest any life to us is easily millions of light years away....
Which means even with light speed travel.... Which is highly unlikely.... That puts them at millions of years away ...
Also anything coming into our atmosphere is more than likely to be drifting vs actively manned..... Which means if they have a space craft.... It was launched well over millions if not billions of years ago....
Like think of how long it would take you to walk from new York to Cali..... Then multiply that by the highest number you can envision....

There is circumstantial evidence to prove wormholes. So lets leave that out.
The shit about slowing down time if you can bend light has been proven on very miniscule levels by scientists on earth already. They already successfully did that. The level we can do it on wouldnt even be noticeable to us in our daily lives but whats to say that a type 2 civilization cant move at the speed of light while also bending light to hop between points in space?
Bending light is also how time travel would work if it can be done on a much larger scale than we are currently able too. But thats a whole different thread.

But aren't we basing that on our understanding of how long it takes to get from one place to another? And if so, what if there are ways to get from one place to another that are faster...and we just haven't found them yet...and they have?

Goodyear blimp
not the NJ video... it’s literally the Goodyear blimp. A google search immediately of “New Jersey ufo” brings it up.
a few years ago I was driving at night and seen a massive green glowing aircraft, it slowed the fwy down having us all think it was a ufo... as traffic continued, and the closer we got, it was clear what it was... a Goodyear blimp. Still funny to this day... distance matters...
As a physicist by training and a religious person. I think it's funny that people scoff at the idea of an all powerful being. I'm not saying anyone has to believe in God, but the shit we know to be true in Modern physics and the shit that is proposed to be true don't sound any less ridiculous when you learn about them. Whether its religion or science, shit is a lot more outlandish than people know.
