Fair or foul: Grad throws money and twerks onstage

Maybe I'm just not interpreting things the way you are. There is a disagreement. Some don't get how others can look at what she did and not see the problem, but that doesn't mean they are looking down on those people.

Like I said, actions have consequences. Endorsing shit like what the chick does plays into how we are perceived in general. If you don't care about what others think of you or our community, then it's all good. However, you can't promote shit like this and then turn around and bitch when other groups only see us as that. You can't be against stereotypes but happily reinforce them at the same time.
I agree with enough of this post not to further our overall disagreement

louder plz

I rather nip this in the bud right here and not condone this shit before it has a domino effect. I hope some of y’all keep that same energy for when a chick tosses off her robe to stripper attire to twerk for degree. Ain’t nothing sacred

I don't see a problem with what she did.

I honestly have more of a problem with Black folks actin like "please don't embarrass me in front of these white people". They already think the worst of us anyway.

And why are we trying to make white folks comfortable in their own bigotry and hatred?

If anyone thinks this makes us look bad, my question to you is, To who?

White people be living rent free in some of y’all heads. That shit right there was an embarrassment in front of every race nation and creed that was there

I addressed that. If you don't care what whites or others think, that's cool, there's no problem. But in my experience a lot of people say that, but then as soon as a white person says something disrespectful about black people, those people that supposedly didn't care start whining. You can't really have it both ways. Either you care or you don't.

For me, I might be old fashioned, but I believe there is a time and a place for everything. Twerking isn't evil. If a chick is at a party or some other social event, and she's twerking and having fun, cool. However, the graduation stage isn't for that IMO. I think it was in poor taste, nothing more nothing less.

As an adult, acting a fool in front of your own people is just as bad, if not worse than acting a fool in front of others.

The thing is, we just not that outraged, we just wanted to see what dat booty lookin like doe.

Have we made it to where simply not condoning something is the same as being outraged?

It ain't new. It's a weak tactic used to try and avoid having to make an actual point. To be fair, most in here that don't see anything wrong with it, said that and left it at that, which is perfectly fine. I'm not sure why these others are coming in here with this outrage BS.
