I will say this. The way this show is written is the same way suburban kids are portrayed in the news. They do wild, fucked up, crazy shit and commit crimes but they get empathy and sympathy. Still shown as having a kids innocence.

When they write shows about poor city kids they write that shit without those kids having any innocence and they not just young kids fucking up and doing wild shit. They are portrayed as having should've known better and knowing exactly what they're doing. The same way the news treats black kids.

Shit is wild. I like the show though but I see WTF is going on as well.

My wife said something about one of them having a dildo. Maybe they just simulated maybe they didn't. Just seems weird for that nigga to cry and close himself off in the bathroom for a period of time if it was just simulated.

I could see being mad as shit because of the type of prank it was but that reaction didn't seem like is was a simulated prank.

While that's no doubt how shit be put out there,the kids in The Chi and The Wire were portrayed with empathy to me

We even liked Bodie,and he was a killer

True but those shows aren't the norm for displaying that about black teens to young adults. Also those shows have/had a lot of black input.

I don't think they actually raped him in that scene - it's was just that frat hazing shit like drinking the fish. He was just scared, embarrassed, helpless and traumatized.

It was supposed to mirror the scene when he fought the kid in football and his father told him he has to learn to bottle all that shit up and just take it out on the field (the field in this case being his girlfriend).

Yeah wouldn't surprise me. Lexi seems down for Rue the way Rue is down for jules so I could see her picking up the pieces or at least trying to. Could just be some best friend shit but Lexi is a polar opposite of her sis so it wouldn't surprise me if she comes to realize she likes chicks.
