There are other popular shows that have long gaps
I think the biggest problem would be whether some of the cast comes back for a 3rd season. They could take the college route and make the focus group smaller if some of the cast doesn't come back. The actress who plays Kat already said she's done. Actor who played Fez passed away
Storm Reid, Jacob Elordi, and Sydney Sweeney been doing movies so who knows if they'll come back
