Drama in Bristol: Is Rachel Nichols racist?

Rachel Nichols is the typical White person. No White person wanna give up their money, status and power for the advancement of a Black person.

Rachel is basically saying, "Why are you gonna take my shit away to give it to a Black person, when it's not my problem. You suck at treating Black women well, that's on you."

Well, life is a zero sum game. Opportunities aren't unlimited, someone gotta lose and White people have proven they will not sacrifice their wealth, status and power for any sort of racial justice. Whatever gains that Black Americans have obtained, was obtained by bloodshed and violence.

Rachel is the typical White person, is it racist that she wasn't willing to sacrifice her job and status for Maria Taylor?

If it is, that means 99 percent of White people are racist and like 95 percent of non-Black POC are racist.

I really don't expect nobody non-Black to be okay with giving up their spot so my Black ass can benefit.

And let's be honest, most men who watch ESPN just wanna look at someone they wanna fuck. ESPN biggest most loyal demographic are Black men.

These basic ass White girls who just sit there and don't know shit, only exist as non-profane eye candy. We all know that 6s and 7s turn into 8s and 9s when sports are involved. Candance Parker big lesbian ass is a 6 and brothers still lust after her because she got a jumpshot.

From Michelle Beadle to Katie Nolan even to Rachel Nichols. Every Black man I know would bust down all three basic bitches.

Now we got Malika Andrews to lust over, with her ass always giving the smoldering eyes, as if she about to do a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Cover. She knows the game. You look good, you get promoted.

I am not gonna sit here and pretend that these women do anything but ask questions and be Sears magazine level eye candy.

It's the same with these male "analysts" that get paid to ramble passionately shit that nobody gives a fuck about.

Some of these posts read like yall legit mad at the idea or concept that a woman can be attractive and talented at their job. Like the shit is a foreign concept to you. ABW need to start doing an incel check before they approve posts

What talent does it take to ask questions that a producer team is giving to you?

Like we not talking about putting a man on mars.

We talking about people who legit asks questions that are given to them and nod their head. Sideline reporters are women for a reason. How many men are sideline reporters? How many unattractive women are sideline reporters? How many unattractive women exist in media period?

The male gaze is profitable and will always drive profits. Why you think women tennis is more popular than male tennis?

It's not incel behavior to acknowledge reality. Being good-looking is a talent in itself and it's the most important thing to be in life.

This is exactly what I got out of the conversation 100%.

What makes me really look at things even more is her saying the duties they asked her to give up was already contractually agreed upon to be hers. Why would they come to her and ask her to give up that duty to someone who isn't as longer tenured at the job or has some type of extenuating circumstances?

I just find it odd and the timing of them asking her to help them out very interesting to say the least........
So that give credence to the notion ESPN wanted Maria up front since the George Floyd protests popped off

She can always go and cover the NASCAR events, but wait, black folks don't fuck with that sport.

She can always go and cover the soccer and golf events, but wait, black folks don't fuck with that sport unless black folks are in the lime light

She can always go and cover the hockey finals, wait black folks don't fuck with that sport.

All these battered white women wanna cover sports that black folks are heavy involved.

I'm glad Mayweather banned her and that other white battered women from his fight. Always wanna be around black folks.

Acknowledging the role that companies manipulating men being horny 24/7 doesn't also mean that you can't also acknowledge that the women you're listing after also aren't good at their jobs. Yes being attractive helps but if it was just about having a pretty face and a mic then alot of these mediocre ass white women wouldn't have a job past 1 or 2 seasons of whatever sport they cover. It does take actual talent to be on TV and hold people's attention. And let's be real with the vast majority of sports fans in this country being middle aged white men you know damn well they wasn't sitting here looking at Jemele Hill thinking she's bad. Hell most of you niggas wasn't thinking that shit let alone the fan bases that lead these sports media companies to make the decisions they do on who to put and keep on air.

Also most men aren't sideline reporters because they actually get the chance to call full games more than women.

It should make anybody who is looking at the situation rationally pause in my opinion. If they forced Nichols to give up her spot she could've sued, so that is why they "asked" (her tone in the conversation seem's like they more than just asked, but she stood her ground) her to give up her spot.

If ESPN wanted Maria to do the sideline and ending interviews with the players during the finals why wasn't she assigned to it initially? Why would ESPN agree IN WRITING (before the civil unrest occured) to give that job to another person before the finals? Why out of all the jobs that could've been awarded to (a hard working person in Nichols own words) Maria Taylor was this job the one they wanted to give to her?

Now look at it even more logically..... What 2 (WNBA went just as hard, if not harder than the NBA in my opinion) North America sports leagues were the most outspoken during the whole civil unrest situation? What North American sports league had the biggest stage to present their product and their views on all the social unrest going on in the United States of America at that time? What North American Sports League has the majority of it's workforce as black people?

If you watched that Dan Lebatard video @TheBoyRo posted you will see 3 individuals who worked at ESPN, point out that ESPN is always reactive instead of being proactive. They also stated (just like Nichols) that the company isn't as diverse as the on air television cast shows. You have to remember folks got fired or screwed over from the network years before hand just for speaking on the very topics that assisted in causing the civil unrest that last year the network allowed everybody to speak on. LOL.

I'm not solely saying the reason ESPN was almost willing to get into a litigious situation was due to some misguided form of virtue signaling but, man........ it sure was a whole lot of coperations saying that "black lives matter" during that same time period while having little to no black or brown people in high profile positions and doing more harm than good historically to black people.......

I think I'm able to put the pieces to the puzzle together now...

George Floyd protests, black lives matter for the moment

Knee jerk reactive ESPN cacs: "Give the black woman the top spot for optics"

Rachel, unknowingly on a hot mic: "My job matters! Affirmative action hire!"

A sister gives the secret recording to Maria and gets suspended for it

Maria takes Rachel's words personally and refuses to work with her again

Fast forward to the story leaking this week and Rachel gets demoted for Malika

I think that covers it

Also most men aren't sideline reporters because they actually get the chance to call full games more than women.

Men aren't sideline reporters because nobody wanna look at a fucking man answer questions to another man, when you already gotta look at men on during the broadcast, and the game and etc. Trust and believe that most of the women on ESPN are there to be eye candy for middle aged men. Sure, you might have to write an article or two along the way, but be real, journalism is dead. Why you think there aren't any new male sports reporters breaking through but new female ones? Why you think they only put former athletes out now?

Most men notice the female reporters over the male reporters for a reason. You think any of us could spot Woj or Dan Lebartard on the street vs. Taylor Rooks? I know what Taylor Rooks looks like, believe me, I fucking know, I don't know what Bill Simmons look like. I don't care. I followed Taylor Rooks career, because she's attractive and she's Black.

The women reporters aren't good and those male analysts aren't good at their jobs if their job requires covering sports. From Stephen A. Smith to Molly Qerim, they suck at covering sports. The best thing ESPN created in the 21st century was 30 for 30. Every since then, they have been cutting talent and cutting costs because their job, is literally, saying inflammatory shit about athletes and the sport and asking questions. They even put Stephen A. Smith's dumbass on MMA and he don't know shit about combat sports.

The only thing ESPN is good for is the drama around ESPN. TNT legitimately has a good half time show because they actually have funny, quirky people. Nobody gives a fuck about the ESPN NBA Countdown or their Final's coverage or their NFL's coverage.

the thing is I don’t even think Nichols really was trying to say Maria was an affirmative action hire in the sense that she isn’t good at her job.

in my opinion she was basically saying ESPN is trying to do that shit to save face because they ain’t shit and they perpetrating a fraud.

Think about it… during the finals they keep the same crew (if I’m Not mistaken) for the whole thing. So Mike Breen, Jeff Van Gundy, Mark Jackson, and Rachel Nichols doing sideline.

3 of the 4 people covering the actual in game situation during the finals. LILLY WHITE!!! then you having her white ass asking the players questions about how all the social unrest is taking a toll on them and what all this means to them.

ESPN fucked up and they tried to force that chick to give up a job she had in writing……..

reactive instead of being proactive

You typed all that and somehow didn't realize that the vast majority of reporters that cover sports are still men...so you're more likely to be watching a man ask another man questions if you're really that into the people covering the games and the athletes.
