I remember sitting there being so enamored with how raw it was. But what stood out the most was how he expressed a kind of double personality. A "conscience" having convo with his darker side. I think that's what made his music resonate so deeply with me in my teenage years. Nobody captured that duality like X could. On one side was trying to do right and seek out what's good, he had songs for that.... but for them other days, when that darker voice felt a lil louder....
Either which way, it was pure energy and passion. And you felt that shit.
