I'm attracted to men a lighter shade than me but I don't think any man my color or darker is any worse. I don't think they are automatically ugly because they are darker unless they really are just ugly.

I've been with both.

what about relaxers? they don't give you anyone else's hair, they just make black hair straighter. that shouldn't be that deep either.

This is a very touchy subject, though something I never see argued is that if the preference for lighter skin black women or redbones as he put it, was strictly because of a eurocentric influence, why did he mention redbones? Why not just go straight to the source.......white women?

I'm not arguing either side here, just something I noticed

Some black men don't even like black women of any shade, but what can we do about it but feel some type of way, at the most?

I've said it before, but we've always had bad ass dark skin chicks in my area (very black area), so I was never on that light skin>>dark skin wave.

It's funny I said this til one night I was watching videos from back in the day and not every video girl was light skin with a fat ass and long hair. I stood corrected.
 
Their have always been lighter toned Africans but I think in Africa most groups married within their group I don't think colorism existed in Ancient Africa. But I also.dont think folks had skin tone preferences back then. Unless it was related to tribalism
