If you watch the movie you can tell it was rushed...the people in the back row with me were laughing the whole time....and this isn't a comedy. I remember one dude leaned forward in his chair...took a deep sigh...and put his head in his hands twice during the film.
That being said the score was nice, the special effects were great. The action scenes didn't always make sense....but they looked good. Hopefully Marvel does Jean justice (they probably will...after they take a solid decade to build up a story and make us care about them).
Do I think it's as bad as it's rotten tomatoes rating? I'd say it should be closer to 40%-50% than 20%. The movie isn't unwatchable.

Good. Fuck this sorry ass FoX-Men franchise. These trash ass movies shitted on all of the characters, especially Cyclops. Cyclops is one of Marvel's best characters and leader of the X-Men. We need a Cyclops appreciation thread. Most people don't know how dope Cyc actually is. He stayed sonning Wolverine.

Jesus that's twice now they fucked up the Phoenix story. With as much as this film was delayed it's really no surprise it came out a mess. Was also kinbergs directorial debut. He was a producer on basically all of singers xmen films. At least the newer ones for sure.
Coincidentally this was the best portrayal of Cyclops in the franchise history.
