hiv/aids has always been seen as a “gay disease” because the 80s set a precedent in society that will never change.

the level of social exclusion, incarceration, and stigmatization that occurred in the 80s has left a lasting affect on the publics perception of the disease.

yes, mass media has worked hard at removing the stigma surrounding hiv/aids but that doesnt mean its still not associated with gay men.

even the prescription drug prep is marketed towards gay men. as if both men and women arent susceptible to contracting the virus

either way, your own personal views of the virus is a moot point
 
HIV/AIDS was considered a ghey and black disease if we're being honest in the 80's. That dirt bag Ronald Reagan was on record not giving a fuck about AIDS because it affected dagheyz and Black people. Ironically a white ghey man was the first case of AIDS in the US

Fast forward to 2021 there's AIDS drug commerical showing Black,White ghey, straight, trans and bi on screen.
