Conway The Machine Calls Out Funk Flex, DJ Suss One & Other Gatekeepers In New York

I never said Budden fans are all online. Reread my post cause you missed the point.

Nah lol. They as big as they'll get, radio play or not.
Remember when folks would say Joe Budden only had fans online...that same joke can be used for Griselda.

What I was refuting was that Griselda (and Budden for that matter) would have gained fans simply by getting their music played on the radio. They're only as big as they are because their fans have looked elsewhere for music, but the average rapscallion still doesn't know of them like that 'cause they're not being played on radio. Believe it or not, radio still matters in 2022. If it didn't, labels wouldn't drop so much money to get songs played there.

I just listened to some Griselda to see if I was tripping.

These motherfuckers taking 4 bar loops without drums and rapping over that for 3 minutes straight with no hook and this motherfucker is talking about being on radio.

Where does this man get the nerve lol.

y'all act like we never had anything but 808's and stuttering hihats since the beginning. Like shit that gets on the radio gotta be club shit always. Like CREAM and Can it Be All So Simple wasn't in rotation in your city. Mos Def had Umi Says and the shit ain't even have him spittin.

Let them niggas be great.

The average casual rap fan isn't interested in Griselda type of music. The audience is younger and more into drill and that singy songy rhyming shit.

when Drake came along, nobody was checkin' for his brand of rap.
When Future came along, nobody was checkin' for his brand of rap.

Give "underground" cats a chance on the radio like it was back inna day. They'll find an audience checkin' for whatever it is they're putting out.

What you said is Flex point, Conway issue should be with his label/Management.

No, radio is the issue. Flex can break a handful of artists, but not like DJ's in the past could. The corporate suits that control playlists are to blame, but Flex is in a unique position that he could leverage his name to get them to add a few cats to rotation (as long as they have radio edits for their tracks). But he apparently ain't doing that so now we're here.

It used to be that you could take a 12" to the stations and you might get a few spins just on the strength. If it hit locally, then you have something. If it catches in other markets, then you have a chance to go nationwide. After radio was consolidated to a handful of corporate entities, you can't do that anymore.

Corporate radio is the problem.

Unless the label pay up and even then they still might not play your shit.

I'm just laughing that muhfuckas really trying to go on muhfuckas with BARS to they shit, while simultaneously championing bullshit like

(The FUCK is he saying in this shit?)

Y'all need to STOP. Let them Buffalo Boys have their lane, and y'all keep listening to this LAME ass shit.
