Conway The Machine Calls Out Funk Flex, DJ Suss One & Other Gatekeepers In New York

:fwm:
Nah man, nobody outside of the tri-state era OG hoodlums that ran with Supreme and them and used to have shootouts with Shook Ones playing in the background listening to Griselda outside.

People that listen to Griselda still be saying shit like, "This is real Hip Hop" like it's 2008.

Mumble Rap and shit now is just Hip Hop, that's the sound that all these up and coming 18 to 24 year old rappers that grew up on Chief Keef and Playboi Carti going for.

People actually listen to that other shit...

But Griselda is literally an internet and stuck 90s phenomenon.

Like even Nas got modern beats...even Nas, the worst beat selector of all time.
Smh people still belive this nas a bad beat picker myth🤦🏾‍♂️

Ain't nobody under the age of 35 riding with Griselda like that. Griselda and they fans are like the same age, which is weird for Hip Hop because it's youth culture, which is why it typically forces old motherfuckers our violently.

The internet has made niche Hip Hop acts like Griselda viable, but there's a reason why they been out here since 2005, making songs that sound like they came out in 1998 and finally brook through like 2018, when peak nostalgia culture hit with bullshit like Stranger Things becoming popular and acts like the Weeknd and Dua Lipa releasing 80s soundtracks.

Griselda is semi popular right now because nostalgia is popular.

But nobody wanna hear songs with gun mouth noises with no hooks over 70 soul loops. If these dudes want their songs on the radio, put it in the right format.
I'm 40. I fux with Griselda.

Fuck that Drill and Trap shit outside the club.

Fuck Drake and that wack strip-club rap. Fuck them hoes.

Take that young boy shit to where it belongs, and let the new "old heads" have their shit.

John Blaze by Fat Joe >>>>>> City of Gods by Fivio Foreign.

Nas & Wu-Tang bout to go on tour, and muhfuckas goin be ON it.

Bruh, nobody wanna hear them 2002 street rap bars over them dusty ass beats.

Conway and them Griselda dudes are a tribute act just like Bruno Mars.

Dun need to be happy there's washed ass motherfuckers that are stuck in 1999.
This is hilarious lol. I fucks with Griselda though

Conway should know how that shit works. Conform to that format then...If you making the same type of shyt that they play and get no spins then complain. Them dudes touring the country regardless, so you really don't need that support

You are absolutely wrong.

Hip Hop isn't a youth culture and hasn't been a youth culture since I was a youth (I'm 48, born in 1973)

When I was a youth in the 80s, people my age (40s -50s) didn't like Hip Hop. They said "it's not music" and radio stations would only play commercial rap (Run DMC, Salt N Pepa, etc) you wouldn't expect to hear certain types of rap on the radio like KRS, Rakim, NWA, Public Enemy.

Hip Hop was a "youth culture" in the 80s, but we're all grown now. People like Jay Z and Dr Dre run Hip Hop, not "the youth" (whoever they are) and I guess that's what Conway was saying, that people my age (40s and 50s) need to get out the way (which makes sense).

In the 80s, Motown was still considered the top of the food chain. That's why that Motown 25 special was broadcast on TV, you know where MJ did the moonwalk.

But when that TV special came on, Rap music was the music of the streets and most of the people that performed on Motown 25 were washed up, except for MJ and he wasn't even on Motown anymore. He had left Motown 7 or 8 years prior.

Hip Hop isn't a youth culture. I grew up with Hip Hop and when I had a walkman in 9th grade, I used to walk around listening to Hip Hop 24/7. I didn't listen to R&B, Reggae, Rock, just Hip Hop. That was 1987. My point is that Hip Hop hasn't been a youth culture since the 80s.

Rappers Delight came out when I was in First grade.

In 1991 the Rappers boycotted the Grammys because it was the first year that "best rap song" was a category and the Rappers of that era felt insulted because their category wouldn't be televised on TV. So they boycotted.

That was 30 years ago.

My point is that Hip Hop isn't a youth culture and hasn't been for 30+ years.

This reminds me of an interaction the kid Astro had w Ebro s corny ass

At the end of the interview the kid is like yo man I need you to play my music up here

Ebro basically tells the kid we ll play ur shit when it’s hot the kid tried to explain to Ebro to no avail that as the gatekeeper tastemaker it’s literally ur job to decide what goes on the radio

Tell me who is the most influential rapper, that changed how new rappers rapped in the last 20 years, I bet you can't.

And it isn't Drake or Future or Kanye West.

Hip hop is youth culture

Those are the facts.

Hip Hop was a "youth culture" in the 80s. That is a fact.

If you're saying Hip Hop is a youth culture now, then you do not know what the word "fact" means.

I saw Beat Street in the movie theater in 1984 when I was 10. That's when Hip Hop was a youth culture.

Like it or not, Hip Hop isn't controversial nor cutting edge anymore. In fact, it's the biggest selling form of music and has been for over 20 years.

Hip Hop is what Rock was in the 80s. A form of music that had been around since your parents were teenagers.

When your parents were teenagers, Hip Hop was a youth culture.

No

I listen to Griselda and love their music but the thing is that Griselda music doesn't have a lot bass,or heavy drums like 808's and 909's . These kids nowadays are not going to listen drumless music, they think it's boring.

even though Griselda & their associates are from upstate NY i would think dinosaurs like Flex would show them more respect.

lol man tell Conway permanent shaq face ass stfu

he too old to be crying about flex

them griselda niggas drop mad music that the masses ultimately don’t give af about

them niggas got 200 songs between them and only like 2 of them can be played in a versuz and one of them is one way flight

:hahaha:
