OPINION contradictions and lies! exposing the democratic party

i truly dont know why some of you are even in this thread. i have 0 plans on going back and forth and stating the obvious with yall.

I hate politics. It would be nice to live in a world where they would do their fucking jobs and we could focus on other things. Imagine us being as shitty at what we did as they are at what they do and still making hundreds of thousands of dollars from it.

the thing about “adding” $1400 to $600 is this...the $600 was not Biden’s stimulus package so why would that be a factor in his package at all?

once again yall are advocating for fuckery.

when are yall going to want better for yourself? like this shit is fucking sad

Okay so remember that first stimulus check of $1,200 that we received in April? That was created by The Democrats in the House.

Democrats laid out a plan to deliver direct payments and relief throughout all of 2020. It was called The Cares Act.

The Cares Act was not a one time payment of $1,200. It was a planned rollout of steady recovery measures and relief.

The Cares Act was designed to have multiple rounds.

Round 1 was in in March and it was $1,200 direct payments, $600 a week UI, and all that other stuff like small business relief and shit like that. Round 1 passed The House and The Senate in March. That's why we received the checks in April after the Treasury approved them.

The Democrats crafted Round 2 in April and finalized it in May. Round 2 passed The House on May 15th 2020. Round 2 included another direct payment of $1,200, more unemployment help, SNAP help, Childcare help, More money and resources for frontline workers, all of that.

The Senate NEVER APPROVED ROUND 2!!!!!

These Economic Relief Packages must pass both The House and The Senate.

Round 2 passed the House and it even had some republican votes for it too.

When Round 2 got to The Senate in May Trump pushed back and said that we need to open the country. Senate republicans stalled and kept bring up empty arguments about making adjustments to Round 2. there were no adjustments that needed to be made. Round to was the same as Round 1 just with increased aid to frontline workers and it extended the unemployment benefits and the rent/eviction freezes that were set to expire at the end of August.

Do you not realize that once that Bill passes the House and reaches The Senate it is solely up to The Senate to pass that Bill then? The Senate is controlled by Republicans. THEY NEVER EVEN PUT ROUND 2 ON THE SENATE FLOOR FOR A VOTE!!!!!!!!

Every time democrats pressured Mitch McConnell to pass The Cares Act II he had a new excuse. He said they needed to tweak the aid to small business. Then he said Round 2 was a Democrat money grab. Then he kept putting The Senate in recess so that they would not be in session to even hold a vote.

Mitch McConnell deliberately stalled on Round 2.

Then in September Steve Munichin who is the Treasury Secretary started to negotiate directly with Nancy Pelosi on behalf of The White House. There was no reason at all for Munichin to even be involved. He is not a member of Congress and he literally can't do shit. Plus Nancy Pelosi who is The Speaker of The House already did her job and passed The Cares Act II in May exactly 1 month after we received the first checks. Democrats didn't drag their feet.

The $600 that you see came from Republicans who when they finally acted like they wanted to pass Round 2 mandated that the direct payments not be more than $600. That's exactly half of what democrats proposed.

Yes there were some Democrats who proposed more than the initial $1,200 but the party votes as a caucus and as a caucus they settled on $1,200. Now what the hell makes you think that a $2,000 check would've passed The Senate if they wouldn't even pass a $1,200 during the height of the summer with all of the social unrest on top of that.

You're arguing about the same shit while completely ignoring exactly how this shit works. You just refuse to read and understand and it's honestly embarrassing at this point. It's why even if you do have valid points sometimes nobody is going to take you seriously because you keep making a fool of yourself.

Because he's a politician, and they specialize in double speak.

It was never double speak. people seriously did not pay attention when this was being discussed and it's also obvious that many people do not understand how our political process works. Especially when it comes to passing Legislation.

im not reading this long winded ass shit on what we already know. point remains, what did biden state? he said $2000 payments, yes or no?

after the 600 was sent out ppl got explicit calls for $2k check, not "$1400 supplemental checks" so theres that

It was never double speak. people seriously did not pay attention when this was being discussed and it's also obvious that many people do not understand how our political process works. Especially when it comes to passing Legislation.

It was double speak. At the very least, he was being unnecessarily ambiguous regarding his plans. Let's not be stupid here. The $600 checks had already started going out when Biden was still saying "We're going to give you $2000." He could have been clearer and said "We're going to add on to the $600 and make it $2000"

There is nothing stopping him from giving $2000 as part of his plan instead of $1400. If he meant for the two stimuli to be connected, that's fine, but he never explicitly stated one way or the other.

it was clearly said if you vote in a Dem congress we will mail out $2000 checks. Ossoff used the phrase “additional direct stimulus payments of $2,000”. this isn’t complicated

best case scenario, the phrasing they used was unintentionally obfuscating (like @The Lonious Monk said) what the actual plan was. but if someone says they are gonna give me a $2000 check and they hand me a $1400 check, that would be pretty disappointing

and why are yall ok with receiving less money? to be clear americans deserve way more than $2000

are you niggas dumb?

i swear yall are so fucking embarrassing

Did you just...

make democrats synonymous with black people?

Are you suggesting that she shouldnt call out these particular white people because black vote for them?

No I did not. This site is called "a black web" and race likes to attack people on here. Get it?

But since you want to play stupid.... tell me how many gop non-white senators and congresspeople there are are vs dems? GOP don't want you, don't like you, don't respect you.

But let's own these dems we didn't vote for for not giving us more stimulus money.

Think about how stupid that sounds.

after the 600 was sent out ppl got explicit calls for $2k check, not "$1400 supplemental checks" so theres that

You got your timeline mixed up.

May 15: Democrats pass Cares Act II that includes $1,200 direct payments

May 15th - September 15th: Mitch McConnell never brings The Cares Act II to The Senate floor for a vote so that it can pass and we can receive the second $1,200 check.

September 15th - December 21st: Republicans propose $600 payments instead of $1,200 payments and they also attach some bullshit to the Bill that would benefit Trump after he leaves office. This stuff was added by Steve Munichin on behalf of Trump. It was a money grab for Trump. Democrats say hell no that's bullshit and an insult to all of the people who have been waiting months for help. Then people attack Pelosi for not accepting the $600 deal that is half of what Democrats proposed and includes all of that extra Trump bullshit.

December 21st: Trump goes against Republicans and calls for $2,000 checks in an effort to try and save the two Georgia Senate seats that were in a runoff that was being held on January 5th. Democrats say sure make them $2,000 and the rewrite the Legislation to make the checks $2,000 and hold a pro Forma vote that passes in The House and they sent it to The Senate.

So now on December 22nd Trump, Democrats, and The People all want the $2,000 checks but Mitch McConnell immediately shoots them down. So then Ossof and Warnock started to include the $2,000 checks in their campaign by saying that if Democrats win the Senate you will receive $2,000 checks which was and is still true.

December 29th: While Trump and the Democrats are asking Mitch McConnell to approve the addendum to make the checks $2,000 instead of $600 Mitch McConnell decides to go nuclear and just approve the $600 checks. Democrats then said that once they win The Senate which they did that they would ensure that people receive the full $2,000.

The whole semantics of $600 vs $1,400 vs $2,000 really comes down to when and how you receive your check. Payments started going out on December 30th.

If you already got your $600 you will receive an additional $1,400. That is your $2,000 check it just came in two separate checks.

If you still have not received your $600 then you will get a single check for $2,000.

It was never stated that there would be a $2,000 check on top of a $600 check.

The only reason why people are confused is because the Pro Forma vote in the Senate was approved for the $600 checks while Democrats and Trump were still asking for Mitch McConnell to approve the $2,000 addendum.

Nobody is getting only a $1,400 check.

The only people who are getting a $1,00 check are the people who already got a $600 check.

The people who never got a $600 check will receive a single check for $2,000.

You need to understand that the majority of people are going to receive a single $2,000 check because many of us have not received their $600 check yet and due to the speed and timing that this was approved it was reasonable to not expect the main body of people to receive their $600 checks by now.

and why are yall ok with receiving less money? to be clear americans deserve way more than $2000

No we're not dumb but you are attacking people for accepting things that they cannot control.

You sound like one of those Black people that hate poor people.

Biden also said 600 hundred isn't enough Americans need 2000. Maybe it's also the way they news was breaking it down as well but that sounds like 600 wasn't enough, we need to make it 2000, as in 1400 more. Hey I'm down for more money lol but that's not how it came off.
