They opted for cast chemistry on the recast as opposed to finding someone to play the woman that was playing aunt viv.

I ain’t even know this was based on his life

his life seems unfunny..and no it just seems like the ppl who wrote this show wrote it to how they maybe view black ppl. Whether he wrote this or not that’s how it comes across to me atleast if I had to attach a feeling to it.

Larry is just an asshole but this seems like a naggy rich Paul going through his day as he’s trying to be funny by whining but it doesn’t really connect.

And the rashida isn’t black enough thing which is mainly what that article was about that was posted about not pleasing viewers. Idc about that aspect though

Im not mad at anyone for calling it corny or unfunny cause thats subjective.

My only problem is the not black enough criticisms, from Rashida Jones and the other lightskinned cast members, to the “they not doing regular black people shit so its not #blackAF” crowd.

I have a slight issue with people saying it feels like this is a white mans view of black folk. I dont see it that way...

Its just a show about super rich black folks. These arent “regular avg joe” black folks.

IMO one of the best scenes was when Kenya and Joy went over 9000 petty on the white couple at dinner.

Them CACs still tried to be condescending and act like they were better even tho they were sitting at the table with someone far more wealthy and influential than they were.

And the root is simply “we white so we better”

Even tho im not a super rich nigga...I can def relate to that in regards to my modest upper middle class life lol

My only gripe was accusing these people of being less than black. It's ignorant. They ain't black enough, but I'm guessing if you act a certain type of "black" then it's all good.

but an example of what im talking about when i say dont go in threads you dont care about are when a thread for an artist gets created and im not a fan of them. im not going to go in there to give their new project a listen and im not going to discuss it...
