Welcome To aBlackWeb

Black real estate agents arrested at a philly starbucks for not ordering anything

We not oblivious tho. We literally saying that we have done all those things and death a violence ended it. Most non white immigrants came in the 50s and 60s. They didnt have to worry about some good ol boys and police burning the whole city down and it being justified.

Im not saying we should give up tho. Im just saying it would probably need to be a revolution or some type of catastrophic event

I'm saying. I was born in '83. I saw Black Americans attempt and succeed at doing what I'm saying well into the early 00s. Which is turning places nobody else wanted into havens for their own. That's well past the pre-civil rights era.

You gotta remember sometimes it will require stepping out of your comfort zone to build a community by your own for your own. That means overlooking big cities and attractive options for more rinky dink and podunk areas experiencing massive white flights and abandonment. But at least you end up making those places your own.

They're right about that though. One of the few things I agree with them on. Socialism only works as an ideal not in actual practice. Ask Venezuelans or the greeks.

People are always better off taking matters into their own hands. Not waiting on Uncle Sam to be like "ok now you can do bla bla bla".

I feel you but i dont think its a way to do capitalism without terrible oppression. Maybe like a combination type system but idk

True good point

The thing is we need people to reach for these positions where they could spur change.. people ambition has to go past their own personal enrichment some people just want the spoils the comforts..and just want to be boss instead of doing anything for the good of the our people. and it has to be in mass their is strength in numbers.

This is a good point. Nobody makes it alone. It requires unity, focus and checking the ego in the name of the greater good. Unfortunately too many feel entitled to the role of chief without ever putting in work as an indian. They want to be chef right away. Fuck the line cook struggle.

Yes but opressed people even with their more limited resources (in comparisons to whites) can still build homes in unwanted places. This is how hispanic, asian and arab communities start to build up all around this country.

Black Americans should not have such a self defeating mental when it comes to stuff like this. They too are more than capable. Especially when they actually have certain advantages over the immigrants that segregate areas for themselves in the US.

As a black man it breaks my heart to see my American cousins so oblivious of their own power and capabilities sometimes. Especially when it wasn't even 30 yrs ago when African Americans were still doing just that. What changed?
shit how you think i feel being a black american...

i come with business ideas here in switzerland....guess who comes thru .....euros and hispanics and arabs.

i dont know if yall remember lemmy from the IC....i talk with him alot here...he lives just across the border....the africans here are basically the same way.

it seems like dark skin equals self limits.

its always black people who tell me everyone aint made to run a business. no other cultures or race says this to me.

shit is frustrating.

how are we ever going to get somewhere when the limit is already set to a worker bee mentality.
how can we have our own, without enough willing to start a business for our community?

shit i get more love for your people in the DR than i get in my own hood i grew up in. shit is sad.

but like me have them ratchets and coke.....

Bruh i get it you want black people not to be so down on self. But we know history it takes decades for an oppressed people to throw away a oppressed mindstate.

for all those “We need more Black cops”

It's fucked up too. Because ideally, having black cops police black communities should be a good thing, but it doesn't matter when they just turn around do the same shit as their white brethren. They think it's blue over every other color. That is until they take their uniform off and get treated the same way as any other black person.

That's a fake image they manufacture to sell expensive coffee
Naw, I just read a book.
The Starbucks experience....

They really bout that life. It's pretty heavily engrained into their entire mission.

Something like this is devastating to their image.... They will go to great lengths to "fix" this...

They have to many people watching them and paying attention to their business model to not handle this with extreme grace and compassion.

Reading, the book, I can't really tell if it's all genuine or just a very smart way to run a business... It could be both....

But I'll say this..... They gonna respond in a way that will set the trend for these things going forward

Remember when Trump first got elected and there was that wave of videos of racists wildin' out at Starbucks? Now we know why they felt so comfortable there.

The police needs to be the ones that we focus 99% of our energy on.

If a business don’t like us oh well fuck and go somewhere else.

But the police is somewhere else and everywhere in between.

Y’all tripping if y’all think black ppl ain’t building communities around the US

Whites just target our area to try to stop it. They doing the same with the Latinos.

But the Asians and Arabs they don’t care because they are pussies and let the white man fuck over them with no fighting back

Starbucks needs to go over their bathroom policy. If someone asks to use the bathroom but they ain't buy nothing... They gotta have a better go to than asking them to leave and calling the police.

Motherfuckers be in there all the time using up the wifi not buying shit.... They gotta do better, and they gotta address this correctly...

I'm wildly curious as to how they handle this... Cuz after I read that book, I was seriously thinking about investing in one.... So I'm paying close attention
