FairFirst few listens and it's clear this is Krit's "mature" album. The theme both lyrically and sonically lends itself to listening to a man who's at a point where he wants to settle down and have a grounded family life but is scared of the potential failure of not being able to keep things afloat. Then listening to an interview this morning otw to work where Krit said flat out "this is a love album" confirmed that.
So I can see why the album throws many of his fans off because while we do get introspective Krit on plenty songs, the way its presented here is different from how he's done it in the past. But I'd also say that this is probably an album that people may come back later on relisten to and see that there's some gems on this one. It doesn't go as hard as his previous work but that's ok for me. The songs that really hit...hit and stick like many of his previous best work so I can rock with Krit wanting to do something different and try to expand his creative space. The beats still knock and the melodies still ride smooth so I'm good with this project for what it is and won't really focus on what it isn't just to nit pick that he's not making Country Shit pt. 13
What be people reactions whenever you wear face paint at these shows? You get alot of stares? So apparently there's a law in North Carolina that prevents you from wearing face paint to indoor concerts. I missed the meet and great with K.R.I.T because I had to wash my face paint off. I even asked security what's gonna happen when ICP do a show at that venue and they told me that they draw a crowd too big for the venue.
This cool and all, but imo even the music is just not jamming. Like you can have a dope concept, but if the music is dull than it ain't it.First few listens and it's clear this is Krit's "mature" album.
