at this stage in our society, unfortunately, our voice just isnt loud enough

we can't even get people to cancel designer brands b/c they are out for self

if you want to see change that affects you in a meaningful way, people need to start at their local mayors office using the tax dollars you pay to the city

Our voice has never been loud (again not knowing your history is how and why this statement is made, if you know history, you would already know how the game is from jump) black folks has always been a lower voting power group but ironically has been the group to determine who gets to the white house or not

When I state the phrase saying "you don't know history" it's not me trying to come off as combative or a know it all or big me, little you, more so on a wave where it's difficult to have a discussion and it's hard for one to see the end game of things when they don't truly understand how the game is played. Are folks in here thinking we will be getting reparation in 2020, some don't believe it will happen, some maybe do, but everybody is glad to see that it's being talked about heavy like it is now. Black folks are charging up these politicians on issues that they want to see unfold and if these politicians are not trying to address them, then they won't be getting that vote, like they have for so long gotten, that's what I am seeing happening more than anything. This has been the most rukus being caused from black folks, since I've been living.

2020, reparations payout? we may not get reparations, and that's good with me, also Trump winning would be a win for black folks again IMO, that would put the burden on the dems for 2022 and 2024 to really take notice of black folks issues, will we get reparation in 2024, maybe not, the dems will continue to lose out and we'll keep getting more Trumps and everybody else will be in a fuck'd up situation, maybe by 2028 or 2032 after shit has crashed and things are in a chaotic state, then they'll start acting on our demands, hopefully it's not to late by then.

I won't address the mayor situation, I'll just say this, no black man nor woman can alter the lives of a group of white folks, all they can do is keep things how they are (maintain) or add to the betterment of it.

but im not talking about altering the lives of white folks...im talking about black folks. Is there any blight in white communities? Abandoned stores that are eyesores to their community? Are there asian, arab, indian businesses in white neighborhoods? No.

I'm talking about building a relationship with the mayor and other politicians on the grassroots level. You are more likely to see an immediate return vs waiting for a presidential candidate to do so, is the point i was trying to make
 
Seems like Trump gone win 2020 with ease, Democrats gone be so divided by then the election will be loss to Trump by a landslide

Any body can move and clean up blighted property, a group of ppl on the usher board/deacons from a community church can clean up the neighborhood/blighted property and a church can start a summer program, and school can do such thing.

they can, and thats usually using funds raised from church, but we know how black folks feel church is a con, so moving along

in the very specific example i used, the mayor here along with volunteers, used money from the city's budget to clean up blighted communities

and yes, there should be black governors, but then you get back into what your gripes about the presidents are. They dont just serve black people...they serve the state

The mayor using the city's budget, to clean up blighted property is not having power, having power would be cleaning up all blighted property in the city which they both hasn't done (both mayors in BR and in NO). Just doing a few houses here or there and getting on TV for a media blitz about you spending a day to clean up debris means nothing.

White churches start up summer programs all the time, in fact, white churches and white communities (the gated ones and open ones, those communities that keep black folks out and allow maybe 3 to 5 on average to move in) (black folks don't have communities, we have neighborhoods) are the ones that start up these summer programs, and day-cares, those private schools that you posted in your other thread that get those funds vs the black schools, there's a reason for their funds that they get, they get to start up summer programs for (their kids), the mayor has nothing to do with that. As I stated, mayors have no power, especially black mayors which is why there are a lot of black mayors.

Black ppl cannot change the life course for a group of white folks, no matter what position they hold.
