thisBut they don't need to black vote to become president so why would they ever offer specific shit to blacks if they think it'll lose them the white vote?
Same as above, what's the game plan?

this
at this stage in our society, unfortunately, our voice just isnt loud enough
we can't even get people to cancel designer brands b/c they are out for self
if you want to see change that affects you in a meaningful way, people need to start at their local mayors office using the tax dollars you pay to the city
Thing is I'm 100% with the shits...these are my thoughts every time we have this discussion
almost verbatim
Correction....She acting like her saying nigger is the most traumatic experience of her life.... And that shit is hilarious
OMG nigga, why do you always do this? Our voice has never been loud (again not knowing your history, you would already know this) black folks has always been a lower voting power group but ironically has been the group to determine who gets to the white house or not
Cancel designer brands has nothing to do with this situation, that's a cop out you're doing breh.
Local mayors have no power, What mayor do you know uplifted black ppl and in what time?
OMG nigga, why do you always do this?
let me try this again
we, black folks, cannot even, as a collective, cancel a designer brand that for decades has put out blatantly racist clothing designs under the veil of fashion, so if this registers, lets say a 3 on the give a fuck meter....how can we organize to approach something thats an 8 on the give a fuck meter?
and LOL and me not knowing my history...you bring this shit up EVERY time we get in a discussion...and then you turn around and say the mayor has no power
do you even know what the mayor in your own city has done? If that doesnt fit your narrative of tangible shit, idk what does, but maybe you dont either
is the mayor going to give you your 40 acres? more than likely no, BUT, they have the power to change the very shit you see everyday in your life at the most basic level. Tired of certain streets bottlenecking at peak traffic hours? Mayor puts funding into road improvements and street signal tech.
Tired of your kids having nothing to do in the summer? Mayor puts funding into summer programs
Tired of seeing blight in your communities? Mayor organizes a team to go around cleaning up blight.
NONE of this shit the president is gonna do for you
let me sum this up, if you want to see an almost instant return on your investment, you are better suited at organizing and going to your local mayor with concerns. Again, concerns that impact more people than just you personally. Just like when you pay taxes for school improvements. Your child might not see it come to fruition, but my child would.
hell, you live in a city with a black mayor for crying out loud
ok, thank you for clarifyingWhen I state the phrase saying "you don't know history" it's not me trying to come off as combative or a know it all or big me, little you, more so on a wave where it's difficult to have a discussion and it's hard for one to see the end game of things when they don't truly understand how the game is played. Are folks in here thinking we will be getting reparation in 2020, some don't believe it will happen, some maybe do, but everybody is glad to see that it's being talked about heavy like it is now. Black folks are charging up these politicians on issues that they want to see unfold and if these politicians are not trying to address them, then they won't be getting that vote, like they have for so long gotten, that's what I am seeing happening more than anything. This has been the most rukus being caused from black folks, since I've been living.
2020, reparations payout? we may not get reparations, and that's good with me, also Trump winning would be a win for black folks again IMO, that would put the burden on the dems for 2022 and 2024 to really take notice of black folks issues, will we get reparation in 2024, maybe not, the dems will continue to lose out and we'll keep getting more Trumps and everybody else will be in a fuck'd up situation, maybe by 2028 or 2032 after shit has crashed and things are in a chaotic state, then they'll start acting on our demands, hopefully it's not to late by then.
I won't address the mayor situation, I'll just say this, no black man nor woman can alter the lives of a group of white folks.
There are black mayors every where, but there are no black governors...Our voice has never been loud (again not knowing your history is how and why this statement is made, if you know history, you would already know how the game is from jump) black folks has always been a lower voting power group but ironically has been the group to determine who gets to the white house or not
Cancel designer brands has nothing to do with this situation, that's a cop out you're doing breh.
Local mayors have no power (why do you think they give this position to black folks?), What mayor do you know uplifted black ppl and in what time?
There are black mayors every where, but there are no black governors...
they can, and thats usually using funds raised from church, but we know how black folks feel church is a con, so moving alongI know that, that's why I said mayors (blacks ones especially) have no power Lol
No black governors, that should let you know who has the power and who doesn't.
Any body can move and clean up blight property, a group of ppl on the usher board/deacons from a community church can clean up the neighborhood/blight property and a church can start a summer program, and school can do such thing.
they can, and thats usually using funds raised from church, but we know how black folks feel church is a con, so moving along
in the very specific example i used, the mayor here along with volunteers, used money from the city's budget to clean up blighted communities
and yes, there should be black governors, but then you get back into what your gripes about the presidents are. They dont just serve black people...they serve the state
also, here, when was the last time someone black ran for governor? Cleo Fields? That was in the 90s? SO, again, at the grassroots level, no one from the black community has put their dollars and resources behind a viable candidate.
