That the majority of white voters voted for Trump is, in my opinion, proof that any talk of reparations would drive white folk away. They already believe that reverse racism is a bigger issue than actual racism.
What would I recommend? It's difficult. Whenever anyone says that black people should only vote for candidates who have specific black policies I agree with them in principle, but then, as I said already, I believe that any politician doin' that would lose and there aren't enough black Americans to make that sort of move politically viable.
So I think black Americans are just gonna have to vote for the most socialist candidate and after the improvements socialism brings to the black community, hopefully more black leaders come along, there will be more educated black people and hoooooopefully they'll be in a social climate that is more welcomin' to reparations
White women were big voters for Trump, along with Hispanics. White women are the biggest group that get the most funding from Affirmative Action and other programs that the gov't has to offer, and Hispanics don't see themselves being aligned with black ppl and want to be the next in line to be accepted as white, thus them voting for Trump, hell most already claim that they are white already, they don't align themselves up with black folks until (not all, because there are some kool Hispanics out here) but most don't align with black folks unless it's us out there on the front line campaigning for everybody and they are looking for a hand-out from our fight.
I say at this point, we need to just be concerned with our issues and demands as black folks, if what we want will draw away voters or whoever, so be it, everybody else present their issues to the politicians, have rallies, and fund-raising benefits dinners and lay out what all their ppl in their community want and need and it's all good. Black folks still vote, but our demands will scare off folks? So be it is how my view and attitude is now.
I agree there aren't enough black folks to make a push to get what we may need and want right now, but there are enough of black folks to determine who else gets to eat and not eat and get the same treatment like us if we not vote and continue to ask for tangibles.
If black votes cause a shift in 2020, best believe in 2024 or 2028, the pandering and benign neglect act will be no more from any politician that wants the black vote.
Imo, voting for the most socialist candidate is not going to do us any good at where we are as a ppl. We are now an official underclass group in this country and that gap is widening each year.
