Welcome To aBlackWeb

Listening to the audiobook of Queen of the Damned and
I was thinking about the concert

Not sure where they'll put the concerts physical location but the show needs to display a crowd of millions attending the concert. Not thousands but millions. They need to accurately display that there should be a massive amount of people in todays world if a vampire really came out. Lestat should be more popular than the most popular person in the world that you can think of IMO

Sam didn't do too much heavy lifting this season.

Claudia and Louis knocked it clean out the park.

Claudia saying "can I say I'm sorry and be forgiven too" will always live in my head

Just finished Queen of the Damned book on audible
Have to say I'm disappointed as hell

It reminded me of Night King hype only to get taken out so easily. I completely understand why the movie changed her death because I felt the books version was weak as hell. She was hyped up sooooooo freaking much and then boom Mekare comes and in decapitates her so easily. I hope the tv show changes this

I'm going to start up the next book but man that was disappointing

They gotta remedy that.

I think Anne didn't fully grasp the strength of her vamps. They cannot be destroyed by conventional methods..but sometimes vamps of similar strength can pull some bullshit out their ass.

Cuz that's a common theme, especially deeper in the novels. Like around the last 2 or 3 Lestat had intense beef with a major vamp and it kinda ended the same.

The explanation was always a speed blitz....

Essentially meaning if avamp is fast enough they can get a clean attack on another camp if they can't detect the attack

However there's more that was left out of the ending of QOTD

In the case of Akasha, it's the consuming of the heart and brain that "killed" her because theY EFFECTIVELY took Amel out of her who is the vampires core. He mutated her body so much that without him, she corroded.

If I'm not mistaken Mekare and Maharet were killed to take the core, and Lestat ended up killing the vampire responsible and kept the core on him. However he was able to communicate with the core and build him a body. Which was something none of the other vampires that housed Amel could do.

The show could lean into that more
.. cuz yeah broken glass is a weak ass death

I really hope in the last season of this show Amel gets a body and display his own power set. Anne died when. The series was taking. Huge sci-fi turn. Amel was a complete different species that wasn't truly of earth. And his race came for him almost starting a war. Armand wanted to kill them all, but Lestat wanted to know what they wanted. And it was Amel. They recognized Lestat was too strong And too protected to just snatch Amel, so they hoped that if they built him a body, Lestat would let him leave.

Which he did. But a lotta the vamps weren't on board with that decision and we never got to find out what Amel could do with his own body, and how that effect the other vampires. If this show can get into a season 10-15..... We might get that story.... Even if the show runners just go off the rails and make up some shit. Cuz it was getting really comic book universe crazy towards the end. She lost lotta fans, but considering the other shit I used to read... I was like 👀

But unfortunately she passed

I'll wait to click on that spoiler lol

The fact that she was able to move faster than Akasha kind of pissed me off. They mentioned how Akasha couldn't use burn them but I would think in the hierarchy that the first would be faster, stronger than the ones underneath since it went Amel>Akasha>Khayman>Mekare

Like ok she couldn't use powers to kill the ones closer to the source but she should have been able to physically kill them IMO

I'm not gonna spoiler this, but sleeping underground enhances your aging like the hyperbolic chamber in dbz.

Say a vampire sleeps under ground for 100 years...

When they wake up and get to their full strength, it's like the have been alive for 200+

It's explained in one of the books.

Akasha turned to a statue, but never went under to truly sleep.
Mekare was sleep for 3,000 years or something like that.

So she woke up and was like 6,000 years strong when she reached full power.

Also there's quite a few still sleeping vampires who powers will be amped when they wake up.

The books get really scientific when Dr Fareed is introduced.... Which the show sly introduce first season.

The dude who kept saying "I'm not here"

So since he's already in play, maybe we get some vampire science explanations earlier than we did in the books.. Fareed filled a lotta early holes in some of the stories
