Active shooter at Texas Robb Elementary school with 19 kids and 2 Adults dead, 18 year old shooter killed

Yea the senate is definitely not going to let that happen

I'm pro gun as fuck, but I'm not against raising the minimum age and I think it's time we revisit minimum ages for certain things in general.

Today's 18 yr old is a lot less burdened with responsibilities and we don't have the same rigid upbringing as in the past. Used to be a time where your ass was working on that farm by as a youngin and probably married with your own family and place by 18. In my opinion the freedoms and convenience of modern living has extended the adolescent mindset (kids are maturing a little slower).

So yeah, I do think that today's 18 year old is too young to buy firearms. Shit I might even be inclined to say 25 instead of 21

That'd conflict with many other things like hunting for instance. Like I said in the other thread they should look into why these people do this in the first place instead of trying to go to battle against an amendment for votes during election

I agree, the problem ain't the guns it's the ppl and they're absolutely pandering for votes. Which is bullshit

But they're going to pass something, I wouldn't be tooooo mad about the age thing. Today's young ppl ain't the same as back in the day. Lot of it's adults fault. Like when it comes to gun safety, we're not teaching our kids as much as we should. Some not at all. Used to be kids were taught to respect, handle, how to shoot and be responsible early on.

I'd like to see less ban gun legislation and more mental health and gun safety bills with resources.

Nah, children can’t buy a gun until they are 18 now and they are still able to hunt before then. Whatever folks are doing when they are under 18 to be able to hunt should still apply until they can buy a gun themselves.

Plus, this isn’t the western frontier anymore. There’s not many people that have to hunt to eat. And those that do aren’t hunting with an AR and 100 round drum.

I knew I was leaving something out. Now that I think about it, may be better as a bulleted list:

- Hospitals
- Schools
- Grocery Stores
- Churches
- Wal-Marts
- Movie Theaters
- Concerts

I guess any building where more than 50 people could gather at a time.
Guess we need to add manufacturing plants to this list of places that need armed security.

Can’t wait until we figure out mental health in this country.
