ABW Stock Exchange: All Things Investing

When this pandemic hit I bought a bunch of shares for a stock called PLUG. Some alternative power company I think. I was buying them at like 2 bucks a share. Had a good amount at one point, but sold a majority of them. I noticed the other day that I had 4 shares left and the value was at 20 dollars. Set a limit to have them sell at 26 dollars and just got a notification they sold.

Kind of wish i didnt as i feel the value will only get higher lol, but I got 106 bucks to either withdraw or invest into something else. Anyone got some recs?

Also been watching one called FCEL. Got 13 shares currently. Average cost when i bought them was 2.83. Today its sitting at 8.05.

Damn.. AMC Theaters is sitting at 3.67 right now.. Cinemark at 15-16 bucks a share. Im thinking i might throw this 100 in one or both of them. Both offer dividends for shareholders. Could just hold on to them until the pandemic lifts and they start making money again.

Someone get in here and let me know if its a good idea or not.

Idk nothing about those stocks so cant say anything specifically about them, but stocks that were hit hard by the pandemic are gonna have a great 2021, so I could see them being good choices from that perspective

Yeah, Cinemark has a 52 week high of 35.74.. AMC only has one of 8 dollars. IF either chain goes bankrupt im sure it would be AMC as they are much much cheaper. Im sure if i buy the stocks are only going to go down until this pandemic lifts, but it sounds like that vaccine is close to being on the way and things may be able to open up fully sometime 1st quarter of next year so I think Cinemark may be able to survive till then. The only thing is AMC theaters has a much bigger market. Not sure what theyre doing to make them valued less than cinemark though.

The stock price doesnt necessarily mean AMC is valued less though.

Its price times volume. AMC might have a shit ton more volume and when added all up, can be worth much more than Cinemark

I'm dabbling in stock. Bought SPCE a couple weeks ago and it's doing well. I'm reading and learning in here.

I mostly wanted to comment because black men getting together and talking about growing money like this is fuckin great.

I don’t have very much confidence in that industry long term

But I don’t know shit

I don't know about investing in cinema

These studios have figured out that it's cheaper to release movies direct to the consumer as opposed to paying a theater to run movies

Theater chains were pissed at Disney when they decided to stream Mulan
