Called the wife right after I read that. Sorry you had to go through that Cain. You a strong brother.

I was gonna come in with mad "you don't respect your jaw" jokes but Imma let the god live, sorry for your losses.

Ok I got a question @Cain regarding you being a deacon.

How did that come about? Who influenced you?

Did you had to go thru a special ceremony in order to become one?

I know my Dad did when he became one. They pretty much tested his knowledge about the bible and stuff. Did you had to go thru the same? Or was it something different?

Also, when you decided to quit b/c you was hearten'ing, how did you break the news to the deacon board and pastor? What was their reactions?

2015 I rededicated my life over to God moreso on the spiritual side. The church I was going to had some good brother's reaching out and mentoring young black boys and girls so I wanted to be apart of it. After helping out and doing that one of the Elders of the church asked me about being a Deacon.

I wasn't really feeling it because I still was drinking and going to bars and what not. She was like that don't matter you'll be perfect for the position. Went to a class for a few sunday's and I was made lol. First I just counted the money after church and made sure was locked up and other small things. Then they asked me to go out and talk to people and pray for or with them. It was aight at first but I couldn't see myself doing it any longer and bowed out. Church is really a business and a soap opera. The "church" has lost its way and more concerned about the dollar than the soul. I still attend every blue moon but I pray and meditate daily.

When they heard about my wife passing they came thru and was at my house everyday. Checking on me and my son bringing food and talking to us.
