My opinion doesn't have anything to do with Drake.

It’s not a classic. Best joint out of the 7 track Ye albums definitely. My Name is My Name still his best album IMO. Will do a full review soon.
 
I'm mobile but I'll post why I enjoy this album so much later hopefully

TPAB is hailed as a universal classic but some people feel the album didn't have enough "bangers". The issue with kids today is no one wants to decipher the music, lyrical content and theme of the album. TPAB was a lot more intricate than GKMC but GKMC arguably had better sounding songs because the emphasis isn't placed on lyricism or spirituality and race. But again what is the general consensus for classic ? Not saying Pusha's album is but one can make an argument.

Critical Breakdown didn't impact the culture? Critical Breakdown influenced the production in hip hop you hear to this day. They were doing shit on that album that was never done before , from the chopping and mixing of samples, to the use of drums that were used. Even Public Enemy credited that album as an influence on the direction they took for "It Takes A Nation" production wise and I haven't even started talking about the rapping yet.



This is me man lol. I'm a real hip hop head. Slap yourself for saying some outlandish shit like Critical Breakdown didn't influence the culture. That was one of the most innovative albums in hip hop history.


This is why I be smh at the shit. Yall be giving any thing 5 mics and not even knowing the history of real 5 mic albums and hiphop.

Listen to the 1987 production of Public Enemy, the whole album's production was very Run DMC'ish

Its very good (because of word play) but severely lacking (because of every song is exactly the same no difference)

Common's Be album is more relevant to the plight of the common man and black family structure than GRODT is. What's missing tho is that GRODT had a huge impact because of the hype and controversy surrounding it. Both were critically acclaimed but there's people who would be quick to write off Common or 50 Cent.

Vanilla Ice and MC Hammer won grammies over Big, Pac and Ice Cube in their primes. Would you say those two have classic albums or albums more influential than the aforementioned ?? We need to define what constitutes a classic and if so what is the minimum standard.
