ABW Album Review Board (Nas - NASIR)

This should have easily been a classic album. We know Nas is a beast lyrically & creatively. Kanye’s production & creativity are typically stellar as well. I waited a long time for these two to collab on a joint project so my expectations were extremely high. I like the album but it’s far from what I wanted to hear from my favorite artist & producer together. I think it’s a good album, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little disappointed. It should’ve been as good as or better than Pusha’s album.

I only listen to Not For Radio

After hear all 5 GOOD albums, I'm convinced this album was initially Kanye Album. I can't explain why tho

Each track is cool but they feel unfinished or rushed. Idk yo. Good album, I guess I did let the expectation get to me but I can say now, this joint ain't for me. I'll come back to play a couple songs every now and then but it's still LIG

Nas hasn't been all that lyrically for two albums now

Can these nosign niggas post the Nas verses with the dope lyrics please

Nasir is definitely forgettable as far as lyrics go and you niggas are stuck in 01 if you think otherwise imo.

LIG is kinda the same a few tracks aside the lyrics just aren't that good

Why we gotta do your job for you?

If you listened to both albums, with his flow, in those beats and say he aint lyrically anymore, then whats written words on a screen gonna do?

Noooo I said he isn't all that lyrically any more. I didn't say he wasn't lyrical at all.

What I definitely would say tho is that Nas reputation as a lyricist goes before him, and his lyrics are rarely critiqued fairly. It's like 'It's Nas so the lyrics are dope' even before listenin'.

I think your mention of flow kinda proves my point coz his flow on Nasir is off.

I agree his flow is off, at times, it's still fairly crisp

Especially on LIG. To me this album feels rushed but we know he still got it. Look at Nas Album Done

When 4:44 came out the thread was fulla lyric discussion. Is this a shot, did you guys catch that double, this bar is hot.

Didn't happen with Nasir. Niggas just spoke about the beats
