We don't watch the game to see what the ratings will be. The ratings don't do anything for the outcome. We watch bcuz we love the game. I never went to bed and wondered who else was watching with me.

Luka, Jokic, Giannis, Embiid, Tatum, Ja, Booker, AD, Mitchell, Trae etc are all stars but none of them are really household names.

If casuals can't accept that this is the new NBA they can kick rocks. IMO the issue is someone on that list is always sitting out during these primetime showcases. Imagine coming up in the Bird vs Magic era and one of them wasn't playing every time they met up. Stars bring the ratings not ratings make the stars. If I'm a casual from Idaho and Luka vs Joker is the game of the night and Luka is out bcuz of injury, I won't be too invested in that game. Even tho a diehard will still watch bcuz they know that Kyrie is about to get buckets that night. The league has household names, they just don't play when you are ready to watch them.
