Wait... Euros is usually June/July and Olympics in August/September. Why the crossover/overlap?

Sorry I'm getting my dates mixed up.
One of my boys is Parisian and wanted me to come over during Olympics which is July/Aug but Euros are June/July (2 week gap between approx) and I was tryna go to that too. But in my mind when I was checking earlier in the year, saw it as an "overlap" to take the amount of time I wanted to off work, given that they were so close in dates.
Only Wimbledon actually overlaps with the Euros during the July dates
