2020 NFL Season Thread

I said they matter to the player. If Daniel Jones or Dak were doing what Josh Allen's done (13-3, 37 TD's, 8 more rushing TD's) they'd be the most talked bout names in football this year, and have tons of opportunities to make money outside of football. But he's in Buffalo...so he's not getting that treatment.

The whole NFC East had losing records this year. What division do you think will get more TV time than them next year?

Told you markets are like white privilege. It doesn't guarantee success, but it damn sure helps. And being mediocre is enough to get ahead.

Market does not dictate to success at all in football.

Not on any scale.

Two defensive guys who had trash defenses more than a few times.

SP is a offensive guy and they never had a bad offense. Only record setting offenses.

You will never find anyone that would put them two over him

:tuh:....now you just talking out cha ass.

Both had good to great def thru out most their careers at a time when the league was actively making it harder to play defense and allow Payton to shine.

Yet those 2 defense guys still managed to get to 2 SB's each

Make a poll

I would say Tomlin and Carrols down defensive years was due more to personnel than scheme

especially Tomlin mainly in the secondary. He and Colbert have whiffed on several (if not all) and not been able to develop any of their DB draft picks until recently when they hired Teryl Austin as the DB coach.

out of the 5 starters (Haden, Nelson, Fitzpatrick, Hilton, Edmonds) we only drafted ONE of them.

front 7 wise we have had pretty good success from our top picks (rds 1-3) in the Tomlin era

injuries and lack of talent in the secondary is what killed us in those 3 or 4 seasons of mediocre to trash defense

as far as Peyton and his offense

Drew Brees is the reason for that...which is why he is a top 5 all time qb for me

he is one of the few QBs that can have complete and utter SHIT as pass catching weapons and still put up numbers

I think we will see what kind of coach he really is once Brees lays it down.

Harbaugh knows how to beat Beli when it matters and Tomlin doesn't. And Payton lost with one of the flukiest miracle plays ever and a controversial PI call that led to rule changes. Also, I never said the other coaches didn't have bad playoff losses.

Again. I'm done with this convo. Tomlin is our coach and he ain't going anywhere. Period.

A loss is a loss.

Bet there was some bad calls and fluke shit in those Tomlins losses but only his count.

You got slim...... :hahaha:

That's what makes Pittsburgh special. They don't overreact.

They have great ownership and management. They'll fix their issues.

Moving on from Ben is hard. He gonna come back and get the money but man he need to retire
main reason he will be back is because of his cap hit...41 Ms

its better for the team in the long run to let him play his contract out

I think they will extend him just to get some money to resign some guys and when he does lay it down after next season the restructure wont give us a shit ton of dead money

but he is still done after next season imo

in 2022 we gonna have a whole lotta money to spend

thats when Minkah and TJ gonna get their money

Tomlin's D was top 10 9 of his 13/14 seasons as coach. And the worst was an 18th rank

yeah it during the "Killer B" era.

our secondary was fucking TRASH and we couldnt keep our fucking LBs healthy

and another thing

most of the playoff losses during the Killer B era a combo of Ben, AB and Bell was always hurt

we were NEVER at 100% in the playoffs with that offense. would have loved to see what we could have done with all three healthy

Top 3 offensive mind ever lol

Never change my guy.

5 of the top scoring offense of all time
5 5,000 passing yards

Most passing yards
2 most passing TDs

More top 5 offense and top 10 offenses than any other coach

We can do this all day

It impacts player money. There's a lot of money to be made off the field while you're still playing. Josh Allen will need an MVP or SB win (maybe appearance) to get the off field money Dak can get for going .500 and getting knocked out first round of the playoffs.

The stats are dope. That’s fine.

but ever means ever. Football at one point was just handoffs.

an offensive mind came up with attacking downfield with forward pass.

Bill Walsh (who SP offense derived from) created a whole new offense, Dan Coryell too. Amongst numerous others creators of whole new offenses. Not remixing offenses that were already made.

Rub routes someone created that. RPO someone created that. Triple Option. Air Raid, I can go on for days

What SP created ? Taking your hall of fame QB off the field so Slim Tebow can plow around?

SP is great. Phenomenal coach but if you can’t see why top 3 ever is wild I dunno fam. That’s a lot of football minds to just bypass all Willy nilly fam.

I said what said.

When it comes to offense. His plays and play calling is top tier.
He expanded on the west coast offense and took it to a new level.
LSU won a championship using SP route combinations on his plays.
Just because he don’t have a name for what he does don’t mean he ain’t doing something that ain’t nobody was doing before.

Quick question

SP or Andy Reid?

Before last year who would you have said?

McNabb’s best years
Vick’s best year (2nd in mvp voting)
Alex Smith’s Best year
Good year with Jeff Garcia
Made Kevin Kolb look decent enough to sucker AZ into a DRC+2nd round pick swap
Only coach to make AJ Feeley look decent

I dunno probably him
