We don't get it but we also can't act like white women still aren't considered the standard by far too many for this country.

its a major accompishment. the greater proximity you have to whiteness, the more success you obtain.

That mindset is still VERY prevalent with a lot of Black men...it isn't merely preference. There are Black men AND women, who wholeheartedly believe "the white man's ice is colder", thus, believing their proximity to a white partner (or white friends/associates, etc.), will afford them certain "perks" and somehow remove the "stigma" of their Blackness.

We can definitely agree that their partner's white skin doesn't inherently change anything about a Black man's life...but a lot of Black people live under that delusion, though.

It's a very sad reality, but reality nonetheless.
