Welcome To aBlackWeb

So Black Men are going to get the blame if Kamala Harris loses to Donald Trump in November

If he kept his same talking points that's highly doubtful. Most looked at him as conspiracy theorist fringe candidate. He was never taken seriously as a candidate regardless of which party he tried to attach himself to
The two party system actively makes it difficult for 3rd party/independents

And if you're like rfk jr who switched from Dem to independent, dems actively do shit to sabotage your support

The money needed and individual state laws just to get on ballot automatically puts 3rd party at a disadvantage. It's not like this by accident.

So what other candidates have an actual chance at winning? Whenever people say this they always throw out some name that they know has no chance of winning. Especially this late in the game.

Well, if all the disgruntled folks that don't like either candidate would put their collective votes behind someone like Chase Oliver (Libertarian), he would stand a chance to win. A win would also mean the first president that was neither a Democrat or Republican since President Fillmore's term ended in 1853.

But as of July 23 2024 we know that person isn't a viable candidate. So what's the plan?

I'm not disagreeing the 2 party system makes it difficult. I'm just saying in his case specifically he was and has been saying a bunch of wild shit that regardless of being a Dem, Republican or independent getting a real push to take him seriously was a big uphill battle.

3rd party is a fever dream and isn't an option for this particular election from my pov.

There's no quick fix to the issues making black people weary of voting. It's going to take multiple cycles to strengthen the value of the black vote and putting bodies in the US senate... through voting.

If you logout of Twitter, you won't know that you are being blamed by some random dickheads on the internet

I disagree on the last bit. The black vote is incredibly powerful, it's the only reason Democrats are competitive in national elections and in the swing states. Black folk aren't organized or cohesive enough to wield it effectively.

What im saying is yall need multiple cycles to get organized and find that cohesion so you can wield that power.

i.e... strengthen.

Sorry, knee jerk reaction. All I'm saying is the vote itself doesn't need to be strengthened, it's value is already there. We've simply delegated authority of it to others. A sharp sword in a weak hand is still a sharp sword.

Yeah wtf that dude is a kook aint no way in hell

In the past we were free agents, the plan should be to go back to that. We can swing any election but we never demand anything from either party. Jews, Latinos, LGBT weirdos, all put political pressure for specific issues. And I'm not just talking in the presidential race, but congress, state, and local races too.

Neither of these parties care about us, and when Latinos get big enough, both will ignore us outright like they do Asians if we don't change it up.

No disrespect but this seems like more meandering and arguments for the sake of arguments.

What are the other candidates going to do for black people or offer that kamala can't or won't? 🤔

Theres no path to a solution that doesn't include taking Ls. But if people aren't heading to the polls consistently and putting politicians in position to serve their interests I don't understand who exactly yall are expecting to incentivize your votes. You have to put them in position first which is why voting is important.

lol The bold is why you have a primary, so those questions can be asked. I'm not sure what is meandering about taking the top Dem candidates, having a debate, and a primary selection of the candidate rather than just putting Kamala in like she's automatically the best choice. If people want her, fine, she should be the candidate, but we're not even letting the people confirm that they want her.

When you say something was targeting or going after people that is insinuating that was it's sole or main intent which you admit it wasn't. Was it a side effect? Yes. Was it it's intended point? That's not something you can say for certain. Especially if you look at, again in the information you posted, what actually happened with how that law was enforced. The quote you provided says specially "very few parents were arrested". So this idea that lines of single Black mothers were being hauled off to jail over their kid's truancy is not accurate at all.

Fine, she wasn't targeting black people. She was taking action knowing that black people would be hurt more than other groups. Does that really make it any better? lol

You're right. It's wrong semantically to say Kamala targeted black people, but I don't think that makes a difference when it comes to people's arguments for why black people shouldn't support her.

How was he a conspiracy theorist though? He was right about covid.

The Democratic Party did take him seriously, that why they did a full-court press to run him out. Same way they screwed Bernie twice. Not that I fuck with either of them, but it points out how much the selection process was controlled by the party heads and not voter base.

Too late in the game. The democrats didn't have any option but to present as unified 4 months away from election.

You love debating so much all you want to see more mfs debating instead of getting to the point. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 This the meandering im yalking about tho. They don't want to have a free for all 4 months out my nigga. It's not happening and you know that already.

The parties chose up. What are you going to do with your vote?

Oh I see. You think I'm meandering because you don't know what you're talking about. Cool. Good talk.

He would be if the people got behind him. That's all I'm saying.

Their (the Libertarians) problem is that they're not actively getting out in front of this with TV ads and shit to promote ole boy. And it's really a stupid thing because the opening is there, they just gotta take advantage of it.
