Wonder when the IRS is going to start looking into whether players are reporting their NIL as taxable income…shit like that always comes into play at some point

If you as a regular person is wondering then they prob already have been.

Again this is why I said it needs to be regulated and kept within the spirit of NIL

these collectives giving players money etc...

at the end of day it bad for the players in the long run. They will bear the brunt of the eventual collapse of this unsustainable model.

Trust that the donors and collectives supplying the money has already found a way to make their contributions a tax write off

you mean to tell me as a laborer in an open unregulated market where they just throwing money around you would be willing to NOT ask for compensation and make it a priority because of "love for the game or university" or "personal growth" lol


again this is why I say

make them employees of the university or stick to NAME, IMAGE and LIKENESS (NIL)

all the stuff coach is talking about would be a non issue.

I feel like the guys that are getting the smaller amounts (less than 6 figures) are the one that will be screwed

The 6 and 7 figure guys got agents and financial advisors so they will be straight.

Its gonna be the “little guy” that get caught up in that sweep when it happens

The exclusive home of the CFP since its inception in 2015, ESPN will expand its current package for the final two years (through the 2025-26 season), adding all four of the new First Round games each year to ESPN’s existing New Year’s Six (now Quarterfinals and Semifinals) and the CFP National Championship rights in the new 12-team playoff that will launch this Fall.

In addition, ESPN has secured a new, six-year agreement – beginning in the 2026-27 season – for the entire CFP, which includes exclusive rights to all rounds of the expanded playoff – first round, quarterfinal, semifinal and National Championship, as well as continued exclusive rights to all ancillary programming connected to the playoff, such as the CFP Selection Show, weekly Top 25 Rankings Shows and more.

In both the amended two-year agreement and new six-year extension, the CFP provides ESPN with the right to sublicense a select number of games.
 
The double transfer thing needs to be fixed. Should have to wait a year if you hit the portal back to back like that
