Ehh that nigga will be fine. Besides I grew up Catholic. I can just ask for forgiveness and do it all over again

Lol indulgences. When I learned catholic priests used to get paid to erase your sins I knew they were shady and all the fun stuff was sinful

If I'm running a network there's no way I'm even thinking about paying Mo'nique anywhere near what I would pay Chris Rock or Dave Chappelle. I would get fired and laughed out of the room. I would be the funniest joke Mo'nique ever told.

I don't like Chris Rock Stand up .......

Dave in another Brackett

So what female comedian is getting a check then....

Can't be only niggas getting checks...

:chile:

I vaguely remember hearing that she wasn't a good mother at all to her oldest son. And what he's saying about her lack of accountability kinda shows in how she talks and the performative nature of it

And she said in the Shay Shay interview that they weren't talking and basically the universe gonna have to step in and heal cus they don't speak. She said she wasn't a present mother and acknowledged how she needed to do better

But.... where his daddy..and I am not talking about Mo'nique husband

I don't cosign the "universe gotta do it". She's the parent. She fucked up so it's on her to take the initiative to heal that relationship. That leave it up to the universe shit is the exact lack of accountability that has her son speaking out again now.

Well he already said he has no interest in doing anything, so she can't force him to do anything, which is why she said in my opinion the universe. Meaning it's in God's hands.

He grown.....

She can't go back and change anything and if he doesn't want to talk or work through the issues then no relationship

This kinda reminds me of Kirk Franklin Son... he had all the smoke for his dad, wouldn't speak to him etc etc.

And to me him getting on social media to explain his side ... when it's the same thing as what his mom said..shows that both of them at this point are why they don't speak or have any relationship now.

As a mother , I am not judging her because I don't know the entire situation.

Because if she was a man and gone all the time working..... I wonder 🤔 what the feelings would be

Because from what I understand he saying he was treated like a red headed step child and often raised by her assistant

So while many people are like oh you should have put your child first etc etc.... thats not the same view or feeling towards men.

And maybe her being gone and working was her way of putting the child 1st

Now he did say she didn't want to be a mother... like ok did she tell him or say to him ..... I don't want you... or say statements that made him feel and know he wasn't a priority.

It's layers to it

Basically this. She has refused to acknowledge her part in anything negative that's happened to her; it's always 100% on the other person.

I know some Kat Williams and Moniques in real life

It’s ALWAYS someone else’s fault. It’s ALWAYS what this person or that did that lead to things not working out in their favor

There is never no self accountability or self reflection on what they could have done better or how they may have mishandled a situation

True victimhood mentality😤

I don't see victimhood at all

This is a person who didn't know how to be emotionally present to her child.

This person was also sexually assaulted by her brother.

We all are still learning and growing. And based on her childhood she probably is feeling like she did better than what she saw or knew

And ain't none of that shit got anything to do with how she operated with HER child. Looks to me like more and more excuses and why shit ain't her fault. If she didn't want him, shoulda gave him up for adoption instead of being a fucked up parent towards him.

Look, a lot of us been through a lot of shit growing up, myself included, but none of that meant shit when it came to my kids.

Yeah im not even giving that much grace. Im a parent too and that's just not a good enough excuse. Fathers are criticized all the time for confusing money with quality time and how bad that affects kids. And using some men's lack of accountability to justify hers does nothing more than further emphasize how she fucked up.

Yes he's grown but he will always be her child. On top of her being grown and his parent, and needing to take responsibility for her own fuck ups. Simply acknowledging isn't a correction. The correction comes in changed behavior which she hasn't exhibited. Monique herself has apparently been open about the fact that she was chasing fame over being a mother to him. So that's a pretty clear indicator be wasn't a priority to her.

Putting in God's hands is also a cop out. God helps those who help themselves. Prayer without work is worthless and whatever other phrases you wanna use. Bottom line is simply leaving things you have direct control over to chance, like your relationship with your kids, further shows that they aren't a priority to her. But people hear the word "God" and think they are absolved of having to put forth any effort which is false. You still gotta do shit for yourself.

You don't know what she's done to mend that relationship though

Yall act like she a Crack head and left the baby with a sex trafficker

Fake outrage

When you say it's "up to the universe", and you are the parent, you haven't done enough. It's an admission that you're unwilling to do the heavy lifting and are leaving it up to some spiritual deity to do the hard work for you.

The man said he didn't want gifts, he wanted a mother and she couldn't, or wouldn't, be that for him and called him ungrateful because the money she threw at the problem wasn't enough. You goddamned right it ain't enough! No amount of money will rectify such a simple request from a child: Be my mother.

That ain't some shit you can buy your way out of.

By her own words she hasn't done enough. Ain't nobody outraged over her shitty mother qualities. Even her son isn't. He simply asked for her to not mention him if she's not gonna tell the entire story so she can keep up that "Yes my brother/sister" image.

Again you don't know what steps or efforts she made to be more emotionally present

I just don't think if the offer or opportunity for her now or in the recent past to show up in the way he needed her that she declined or was difficult. Especially since she has since been a mother to her other children.

The whole issue with Tyler and Oprah with the her doing promotion was that she really wanted to stay home with her kids and she wasn't trying to go international to promote for free

And I actually think her prayers to be a better mother worked. She unfortunately got blackballed but I am sure her time with her kids increased

Everyone has experiences that help them become a better person and do better.

And I think she trying

Yeah her lack of emotional support for her son did affect him and she has to reconcile that.

She didn't bring him up. She was asked about him and she didn’t lie or mislead

She didn't elaborate probably because of her son.

I don't think there's anything insensitive with what she said

The mother she's been to her other kids ks even more of an indictment. It shows she has the abiloty but consciously chose not to. Same way folks shit on fathers who leave their kid/s and go be super Dad to their new family she should catch the same heat. She by her own admission chose to chase fame over being a mother. Even the Tyler/Oprah shit makes her look bad because its basically "Oh so you wanted to stay home with them but not with me?"

People in general seem to have a hard time reconciling that alot of moms aren't as good as they want to believe even when that mother admits it herself. What her son is talking about, the emotional neglect and lack of actually being a mom, is something alot more people experienced than talk about publicly.

And she could've said "next question. Edit that out". But because people think acknowledgment= accountability some get duped into thinking her simply acknowledging it is enough when it's not at all. It's a baby step and she has to take the rest of them. Not leave it up to the universe to fix her mistake. Because now she can spin the victim label again into "I admitted I wasn't a good mom. What more does he want?"

I genuinely doubt if she made a real effort to actually be a mother to her son he would still be talking about it. The healing would have started, no need to go to social media with it. But he see's her propping up her relationship with her other sons and seeing her be the mother to them he wishes he had; that fucks with you. So, yeah, it's time to speak out on it.

If she was trying, she would be in her son and grandchild's life. Apparently she's not and "leaving it up the the universe" to fix it. That ain't trying to me.
