I read this thread often but don't say much because I'm a registered judge and don't want to come across as biased in the case that I ever get to judge any of the top fights.
But I have to say that Bud really surprised me. I had picked him to win, but I saw it happen in a much different way...
I agree with this. The story that the movie told is a dope story, and I wish it was the true story. Everyone in the film was great. I watch a lot of Nollywood and other African films and loved seeing some familiar actors like Jimmy Odukoya and Thuso Mbedu getting some shine.
The only other diseases worse to me are the ones like Parkinsons and ALS where you are still mentally sharp, but your body won't cooperate. In my mind, that's like when you wake up from sleeping but can't open your eyes, but permanent.
I'm not sure how many of you keep up with Nollywood and the African film industry. My wife and I have been watching a lot of Nollywood over the last few months and were happy to go and see Battle on Buka street when it opened here in Atlanta on the 30th. It did well enough in the 11 places...
MAN!!! Ain't that the truth! That little girl at the dentist office had me doing the high pitch scream when she was trying to replace my temporary cap after it fell off. I'm 43 years old and was in that chair begging for my Momma!!!!!
Part of what makes this album so great was that they threw cohesion to the wind. I forget how many tracks were recorded, but they were like "let's pick the best 9 whether they go together or not."
Then, 7 of the 9 were released as singles with Thriller being the last single from that album.
You know some of the tracks on this album and Off The Wall were originally written for Heatwave, which was Rod's old group. Thriller is one of the songs. If you are familiar with Heatwave's music, you can hear the similar sound on several tracks from both albums.
