The actor’s agent and manager have both dropped him, as has Lena Waithe’s The Chi—where one of Mitchell’s co-stars allegedly felt so unsafe around him that she often asked her fiancé to accompany her when filming scenes with Mitchell.

Jason Mitchell, whose star appeared to be on the rise after a stirring turn as Eazy-E in Straight Outta Compton, now faces accusations of misconduct. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Mitchell’s agent and manager have already dropped him, as have his current projects, The Chi and Desperados.T.H.R. reports that multiple women on the set of Showtime’s Chicago-set drama allegedly had issues with Mitchell; a source said that Tiffany Boone, who played his girlfriend on the series, reportedly felt so unsafe around him that she often asked her fiancé, Dear White People’s Marque Richardson, to accompany her when she needed to film scenes with Mitchell.

T.H.R.’s source added that Boone told Fox 21, which produces The Chi, that she couldn’t work with Mitchell any longer. The company reportedly released her from her contract to pursue other projects, while keeping Mitchell on board. It’s unknown what ultimately led to the change of heart in letting Mitchell go. Desperados recently parted ways with Mitchell as well; sources told T.H.R. that the actor’s co-stars Nasim Pedrad, Anna Camp, and Robbie Amell all complained about his behavior.

Since Straight Outta Compton, Mitchell has appeared in films including Mudbound, Kong: Skull Island, and Detroit. His biggest role since, however, has been as Brandon on The Chi—a popular young guy trying to open a restaurant with his girlfriend.

Mitchell was investigated in 2016 after allegedly assaulting an 18-year-old woman.

A source confirmed that Mitchell is currently on hiatus with his publicity agency, Rogers & Cowan. Showtime has confirmed that Mitchell will not be a part of The ChiSeason 3. Representatives for Netflix, Mitchell, and Boone did not immediately respond to V.F.’s requests for comment.

Any nigga named mark but spelled like that can't protect her

Well they ll have to tell us bout it in season 3 cuz he ain’t shooting no more scenes lol

they could always just have the cops arresting a body double on screen w/out showing the face then have them explaining what happened.

I still think its a wrap without em unless they introduce a entirely new character in season 3 and just shift focus to their life story to feel that void.
