Ppl get charge with negligence all the time for the actions of others that they have influenced
No different in this situation here other than when parents are charged for the actions of their child, difference is, the parents are not encouraging the kids to do such act, but they are responsible for such act of a minor.

Again, causation. He was already talking about killing himself prior to her, she didn;t cause these suicidal thoughts.
